KCRA creative services team member Chris King has died after a car crash. He was 59 years old.
King was a senior promotions producer who had worked at the Sacramento NBC affiliate for 16 years.
The Desk reported the crash happened Monday around 6:30 p.m. Police were dispatched to a report of a Jeep that drove off the roadway while traveling on Interstate 5.
King died from traumatic injuries sustained in the crash, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.
His colleagues said King “brought a smile and a laugh to every project he worked on and that he was a talented creative mind.”
Beyond his work at the station, Chris produced his own films, was a military veteran and a father.
