(also the number of plates), all in color on high-gloss paperstock, each plate extensively captioned in German and English, hardbound in 12x8.5 inch pictorial boards. Case has general mild edgewear with small nicks at head and tail of spine panel, entirely sound, clean and unmarked within, a good copy. Herr Reinisch in his prefatory remarks invokes Karl May as childhood inspiration for rug- scrounging, and Rene Magritte for a grown-up reason; an unusual rugman, hein?.

Softbound, a pamphlet in 8x5.5 inch blue wraps, stapled, a virtually immaculate copy: absolutely sound, clean and unmarked. Bound in find a printed notice headed "For the Duration" --the brief text names peacetime applications of the two products, and also, for the duration of war, how devoted Rohm & Haas are to nosecones, gun turrets and other transparencies. Dated from a tiny backpage list of impressions; first issue was a run of 10000 in 1940, second 5000 in '41, this run likewise 5000.

Unpaginated, about seventy pages, fullsize captioned color and b&w photos throughout on fine alkaline paperstock, find a rear pocket containing five 9x6 inch color design cards (as called for; mostly modernist & abstract). Item is an 8.5x11 inch oblong softbound in fine shape: perfectly sound, clean and unmarked. These rug entrepreneurs found five tiny rural villages snug between rice paddies and a fearsome mountain range (see doublespread photo) where the inhabitants, men & women both, were glad to pick up money weaving. Most of the recent patterns are excellent, and the weavers can do classical designs too.
