I haven't received January's bill yet (probably in the mail today), but my December bill was only $50.58. I keep my home at around 73, two stories, 4300 square feet. I'll post my January bill amount when I receive it.

Interesting that your home is twice as big as mine, you keep it 4 degrees warmer and your bill is 1/3. Do you have gas appliances & hot water? That makes no sense.

Insulation. Particularly around the windows and at the roof. My gas bill only goes up $30-40 in the winter. Making the house unusually energy efficient pays big dividends all year.

My water heater is a tankless gas heater; gas dryer and stove. I'm expecting my next bill to be much higher, but my house is an energy efficient home built in 2011.

Was told by our air conditioning expert that homes here over 2,000 sf need two units

Most of the bigger houses I've been to or looked at, all over the country, have 2 units.
However, in cooler areas where you only need to worry about heat, one unit can do you just fine.

Some people are scared of gas because of explosions. They can take out an entire neighborhood. But that's usually due to negligence.

my bill for December was $112 ---- I rememberrr furnaces running all the time.
for November was $25

2500 sq.ft. single story

There is a price increase that began January 1st.

Hopefully January bill will be less because of warmer 60/40 degree weather.
