The Childcare Office are delighted to announce that the team at the Chris Abell Nursery have been awarded Outstanding in all areas following their recent inspection.
The report highlights how children ‘eagerly explore their environment and relish discovering new things from a wealth of experiences and resources’ but also how ‘practitioners implement an inspiring curriculum that builds on children’s interests and helps to ensure that they all make the very best progress'

“Having taken over as nursery manager at Kids Planet Chris Abell in October, I can say I’m immensely proud of the team and everything we have achieved recently. Achieving Outstanding is a true testimony to the team and the hard work they have put in.
We are extremely proud of the environment we have created, to have children who are thriving daily, and to have a team that values the importance of communication. We will continue to strive to provide Outstanding care for all the children and families that attend our nursery.”

Changes to Early Years Funding
There are now additional funded hours of childcare available for eligible working families.
The University’s workplace nurseries are now able to offer the additional funded hours of childcare to eligible working families for two-year olds, and the additional funded hours of childcare for 9 month-olds, from September 2024.
If you are already enrolled with a University nursery you may have received further information and advice on the next steps directly from the nursery. If you have any queries, please do speak to your nursery team.
