Joy, meet Euphoria. “Inside Out 2” has become the highest-grossing film in the long and distinguished history of Pixar, the studio behind the animated phenomenon.
The hit family film has earned $1.25 billion globally and passed “Incredibles 2,” the animation studio’s previous record holder that earned $1.24 billion worldwide over its run. “Inside Out 2” now ranks as the fourth highest-grossing animated movie of all-time, behind “Frozen” ($1.29 billion), “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($1.36 billion) and “Frozen II” ($1.45 billion). The “Frozen” franchise was released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, which shares a parent company with Pixar, while “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” was produced by Illumination and Universal. Expect “Inside Out 2” to keep climbing up the charts, shattering records as it ascends.
Domestically, “Inside Out 2” has earned $543.5 million. Its international gross stands at $708 million. The sequel, which follows the emotional life of a teenage girl as she struggles with fitting...

Gird your loins. Miranda Priestly is set to deliver more withering glances in a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Disney is developing a sequel to the hit 2006 movie starring Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, the high-powered fashion magazine editor from hell with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt as her harried assistants Andrea Sachs and Emily Charlton.
The original film’s screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is in talks to return to pen the next chapter. Who from the original cast will return is not clear, but the storyline reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s dishy 2003 novel about a young woman’s nightmarish experience working at a fashion magazine (Weisberger worked as a personal assistant...

Hugh Grant is “miserable” due to the closure of his local movie theater.
The actor lamented Cineworld’s decision to close a quarter of its cinemas in the U.K., including his own Fulham Rd outpost.
“Fulham Rd cinema closing after 94 years. Strangely unbearable,” Grant posted on X. “Let’s all sit at home and watch ‘content’ on ‘streaming.’ While scrolling. Miserable face emoji.”
Actor Michael Warburton commented on Grant’s post, writing, “Part of my Cinema-going history for sure and therefore damnably sad & infuriating in equal measure. Once these palaces are gone they don’t come back people!”
Of course, Grant isn’t entirely removed from the shift in entertainment industry business models, as his recent film “Unfrosted” debuted solely on Netflix. His additional roles in “Wonka” and the upcoming horror film “Heretic” both have theatrical releases. Grant is also reprising his beloved role in the latest “Bridget Jones” franchise installment,...

Bette Midler is asking Disney to put the pedal to the metal when it comes to “Hocus Pocus 3.” While a third movie in the beloved Halloween franchise was officially announced in June 2022, Midler said on the QVC+ talk show “Busy This Week” (via Entertainment Weekly) that she has yet to see a script. That’s only an issue for the actor since she’s not getting any younger, nor are her longtime co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimi.
“I haven’t seen the script, but I’ve heard rumblings,” Midler said about the third movie. “I think if they’re gonna, they oughta, because time is not just marching, time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing, I mean, God!”
Screenwriter Jen D’Angelo confirmed to Entertainment Weekly last year following the end of the WGA strike that “Hocus Pocus 3” was still in development.

Francis Ford Coppola is bringing the “Megalopolis” production experience to other filmmakers.
The auteur announced the new pioneering All-Movie Hotel, which offers both hospitality and facilities needed to make films on any scale from smaller independent movies to larger-budget endeavors. The hotel also serves as a destination for film fans “interested in the magic of moviemaking,” per an official press release. The All-Movie Hotel is billed as being the first of its kind, and is on the property where Coppola completed post-production on his self-funded “Megalopolis” in Atlanta suburb Peachtree City, Ga.
“I envisioned The All-Movie Hotel to be a space where filmmakers could truly immerse themselves in the creative process, fostering a collaborative environment that inspires innovation,” Coppola said. “I fell in love with Peachtree City during my two years of residency here while shooting ‘Megalopolis’: the people, the easy access to nature and peaceful spots via the famed golf cart paths.

Audiences want more representation of gender, race, and ability onscreen, especially according to a new study from the non-profit Inevitable Foundation.
The organization advocates the disabled filmmaking community and recently issued the “Audiences Are Waiting for Hollywood to Greenlight Disability” report through the Foundation’s Research Institute. More than 1,000 people — both disabled and non-disabled — were surveyed about disability and mental health representation onscreen.
The report found that 66 percent of audiences are “unsatisfied with current representations of disability and mental health in film and TV,” while disabled people watched more hours of TV per week than non-disabled people (35 percent compared to 25 percent).
Additional findings included that films and shows with more representation would have larger audiences. The Research Institute discovered that 40 percent of audiences, both disabled and non-disabled, are “very likely” to recommend a film or TV show if the project includes authentic representations of disability or mental health conditions. And...

The Country Bears have had a makeover. The long-running Country Bear Jamboree attraction at Walt Disney World in Florida is reopening this month after being dark for six months, with a familiar look but a new name, a new script and a new score made up mostly of classic Disney songs sung by Americana musicians including Mac McAnally, Allison Russell, Chris Thile and Emily Ann Roberts.
The newly renamed “Country Bear Musical Jamboree” now has McAnally, a country singer-songwriter who is most widely known for being a decades-long mainstay of Jimmy Buffett’s band, serving as the producer and arranger of all the musical material for the revamped attraction. He also sings country-fied versions of “Bare Necessities” (from “The Jungle Book”) and “Fixer-Upper” (from “Frozen”) as a member of the voice cast.

Kevin Costner returned to the director's chair for the first time in decades for his ambitious Western "Horizon: An American Saga," which is not just one film, but a planned four-film epic that already has two installments ready to go with a third underway. Unfortunately, in the early going, things have not panned out, as "Horizon Chapter 1" recently bombed at the box office. Now, we have word that "Horizon Chapter 2" has been removed from Warner Bros.' release calendar, maybe for good.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Costner's Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have jointly agreed to pull "Horizon: An American Saga -- Chapter 2" from its previously planned August 16 release date. That date always felt ambitious, given that it was less than two months from the release of "Chapter 1." Kevin Feige had but one request.
The Marvel Studios president was talking to writer-director Shawn Levy about plans for the studio’s upcoming blockbuster “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
This was a couple of years ago, and Jackman had just confirmed his grand return as Wolverine after retiring the character in 2017’s emotional sendoff “Logan.” The 55-year-old Australian had played the gruff mutant with adamantium claws and regenerative abilities in nine films across two decades to much acclaim and, according to Feige, one glaring oversight. Jackman had never appeared in the character’s canonically mustard-colored costume.
“When we told Kevin that Hugh was in, the first thing I remember him saying was, ‘Ok, but he’s finally wearing the yellow suit,'” Levy recalls. Not that Feige had to convince anyone. The director says, “We immediately responded, ‘Hell fucking yes.'”

An individual with knowledge of the decision told IndieWire distributor New Line Pictures and Costner’s own Territory Pictures mutually agreed to delay the film’s release in order to give the first part more time to build an audience, including for “Horizon – Chapter 1” to be released on PVOD beginning July 16. A date for the first film to be released on Max has not been set either.
As of now, “Horizon – Chapter 2” remains slated for a theatrical release, but no release date has been set.

David Ellison started his pursuit of Paramount Global last winter — 30 years nearly to the month after Sumner Redstone and Barry Diller began their long M&a fight for control of one of Hollywood’s foundational studios.
A generation later, Ellison’s Skydance Media and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital are poised to add a new chapter to the history of Paramount, CBS and more, after an equally protracted and hard-fought negotiations with Shari Redstone’s National Amusements Inc. On October 21, 2021, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed when a live round discharged from a prop gun on the set of the indie Western film “Rust.” The man holding the gun: Alec Baldwin.
For the last three years, the ins and outs of what went wrong on that day have consumed Hollywood. Few, though, imagined it might get this far, with Alec Baldwin set to stand trial in New Mexico on a charge of involuntary manslaughter that could land him in prison.
Jury selection begins today, Tuesday, July 9, with Baldwin already in attendance in court following a pre-trial hearing on Monday that even handed Baldwin’s legal team an early victory (more on that later).
We’ll be updating this space with some of the most notable updates from the trial, which will be streaming live starting tomorrow via CourtTV and Law & Crime Network on YouTube.

Santa Fe, N.M. — A prosecutor told jurors Wednesday that Alec Baldwin violated the cardinal rules of gun safety while playing “make believe” on the set of “Rust,” resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Erlinda Ocampo Johnson, one of two special prosecutors on the case, argued in her opening statement that Baldwin repeatedly violated film industry gun protocols in the days leading up to the fatal shooting. She also faulted him for failing to check his gun with armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who had mistakenly loaded it with a live bullet.
“The defendant didn’t do a gun safety check with that inexperienced armorer,” Johnson said. “He pointed the gun at another human being, cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger in reckless disregard for Ms. Hutchins’ safety.”

Way back in November 2022, it was reported that Shawn Levy would be directing a “Star Wars” film. Since then, however, we haven’t heard anything about the project. Well, that’s finally changed, as we know who will be writing the film.
According to Deadline, Shawn Levy’s untitled “Star Wars” film will be written by Jonathan Tropper. The writer has a fairly long history with Levy, having written the Netflix film, “The Adam Project,” as well as the filmmaker’s “This is Where I Leave You.” Trooper is also the man who created the criminally underseen TV series, “Banshee,” as well as “Warrior.”

Hugh Grant recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to mourn the closing of his local U.K. movie theater. Cineworld announced earlier this month it was closing down Picturehouse, a boutique arm of movie theater chains that includes Grant’s beloved Fulham Road cinemas.
“Fulham Rd cinema closing after 94 years. Strangely unbearable,” Grant wrote to his followers. “Let’s all sit at home and watch ‘content’ on ‘streaming.’ While scrolling. Miserable face emoji.”
Several other members of the British film and television industry replied to Grant’s post with their own shock and owe over the movie theater’s closing. Broadcaster Terry Christian wrote: “Lived around the corner from a cinema as a kid – like something magic. We used to walk around and look at the stills of what was showing and imagine. Should protect them like the French do.”
Actor Michael Warburton wrote in a reply that the closing...

Elliot Page has been incredibly open and honest during his transition. He even wrote a book about it. And now, it appears the actor is ready to explore the issues trans people face on the big screen.
As seen in the trailer for “Close to You,” the film tells the story of a trans man coming back to his hometown after years away. While there, he tries to reconnect with his family, as well as friends who haven’t seen him since his transition.

Prosecutors and defence attorneys have presented opening remarks on the first day of Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial in relation to the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust.
Prosecutor Erlinda Johnson told a jury in the New Mexico courtroom on Wednesday morning they must find Baldwin guilty after he did not perform a safety check before a Colt .45 prop gun went off in his hands during rehearsal at Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico, on October 21, 2021.
A live bullet hit Hutchins who later died that day in hospital aged 42, and injured director Joel Souza.

One of Netflix's tactics to keep audiences engaged is finding forgotten films and presenting them to modern viewers. So often the streamer asks us all the question, "Are you sure you didn't like this when it first came out?," and apparently our collective response is frequently "No, actually, it's kinda good." This happened earlier this year with forgotten action movie "The Bricklayer" and prior to that Netflix breathed new life into Keanu Reeves' 2008 crime-thriller "Street Kings." In the latter's case, it was a worthy resurgence for a decent little effort from director David Ayer that slipped under the radar when it first released. But in the case of, say, "The Snowman," which resurfaced in Netflix in 2023 after a dismal theatrical debut back in 2017, we started to get the idea that Netflix viewers will watch pretty much anything.
Now, the streaming juggernaut is once again offering a forgotten film somewhat of a reprieve.

Maika Monroe is not a fan of the dark arts. Though one of indie horror’s most respected scream queens, she’s not of that genre: She laughs easily and talks animatedly with her hands, often starting sentences with the word “Yes!”
“Going Method doesn’t work for me,” she says. “As soon as we’re done with the day, I go back home and watch ‘The Kardashians’ or something to shake it off.”
The fact that she’s so personable is partly what got her the notably cold role in Oz Perkins’ terrific new horror film “Longlegs,” in which she plays Lee Harker, a shutdown, haunted, high-strung FBI agent on the hunt for an occult- obsessed serial killer, played by Nicolas Cage.
Perkins says the “irreconcilable difference” between Monroe’s personality and the characters she embodies is what drew him to her. He was particularly inspired by her evocative performance in the 2022 thriller “Watcher,...

The California Film Commission has awarded $58 million in tax credits to five television shows that will be shot and produced in the state of California, including Ryan Murphy’s upcoming “All’s Fair” starring Kim Kardashian.
It comes as part of the California Jobs First initiative, which will award the credits to one recurring television series, a limited series and three new television series through the initiative’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program to incentivize television productions to remain local and contribute to the state’s economy.
The projects are expected to spend an estimated $386 million in California during their upcoming seasons, directly supporting in-state local businesses and employing 1,196 crew members, 685 cast members and 15,869 background performers — measured in days worked. They will generate approximately 438 filming days across California.

Turns out, James Caan needed some convincing to find Will Ferrell’s “Elf” performance funny.
During Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s “Messy” podcast, Ferrell recalled how his late co-star Caan didn’t “get” his humor at first. Instead, Ferrell drove Caan “crazy” just like his character, who was Caan’s onscreen son, did. Legendary star Caan died in 2022.
“James Caan, may he rest in peace, we had such a good time working on that movie,” Ferrell said. “He would tease me. Christina, you know: I like to do bits but I’m not like ‘on’ all the time. Let’s talk about the David of it all.
The new chairman and CEO of the soon-to-be-combined Skydance and Paramount Global — Hollywood producer and Oracle heir David Ellison — has had quite the week, and it’s only Wednesday.
Show business, Wall Street and media watchers have digested the news that Ellison finally brokered a deal for the Redstone family empire. In the subsequent two days, talk around the executive’s capability in his new high-flying role has boiled down to three questions: Who is David Ellison today? What does he bring to the table? What does he have working against him?
The town has many thoughts — most of them good in these early days.
“He’s been a CEO and a successful one, probably the most successful independent there is,” said Ariel Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor and Tko Group Holdings.

We’ve come to the point in the “Deadpool & Wolverine” interview cycle where the inevitable question comes up. It’s such an obvious question, it’s pretty wild to think that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman weren’t prepared for it.

Rebel Wilson claims backers of her directorial debut are blocking the movie from premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Wilson directed the Australian musical “The Deb,” which she alleges was selected as the closing night film for TIFF 2024. Wilson also claimed that “The Deb” producers Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron and executive producer Vince Holden embezzled funds from the indie feature and tried to “bury” it. According to Wilson, the trio acted with “absolute viciousness” and with “retaliatory behavior” and pulled the film from the festival.
IndieWire has reached out to Wilson for additional comment and to TIFF for clarification.
“So you might have noticed that I did a post like a week ago about my film. It’s the first film that I’ve directed that I’m so proud of, ‘The Deb,’ which is a little Australian original musical that is so cute,” Wilson said in social media video,...

There’s only one way to judge a new Star Wars property in this day and age: Watch it yourself.
Leslye Headland’s “The Acolyte” premiered on June 4 and earned positive response from critics for the first four episodes. The audience ratings are far lower, a combination of disappointed Star Wars purists, bigots, and probably a few trolls. Mileage varies in a major franchise, but rarely this much — and for potential viewers who are curious about the series, it creates a confusing cacophony of shouted disagreement.

Be kind, rewind: the "V/H/S" franchise will return this Halloween season, with a new line-up of talent bringing six new segments to the screen. This latest film, titled "V/H/S/Beyond," will change things up a little bit by bringing sci-fi into the horror mix. Per Variety, the film "will feature six new bloodcurdling tapes, placing horror at the forefront of a sci-fi-inspired hellscape." If that wasn't enough to get you excited, maybe the folks involved will be. Perhaps most prominent among the list of names involved with this new entry is Mike Flanagan, the modern horror master whose credits include "The Haunting of Hill House," "Doctor Sleep," "Oculus," and the most recent "The Fall of the House of Usher." Flanagan isn't directing, though — instead, he wrote a segment that will be helmed by his wife Kate Siegel, who has appeared in the majority of Flanagan's films and TV shows.

Feelings fly between Edgar-Jones’s tornado-halting scientist and AI-handsome Powell’s storm-chasin’ YouTuber. Just don’t mention climate change
Twister was the smash-hit 90s disaster film about tornadoes, co-scripted by Michael Crichton, which sent an innocent cow twirling up into the heavens. Now here’s the jeopardy-multiplying follow-up called Twisters – there are loads of them – although the title might lead some British audiences to assume it’s an affectionate biopic of racehorse trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.
Lee Isaac Chung, known for his autobiographical movie Minari, directs, and Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Kate, a brilliant and courageous tornado researcher, or maybe tornado whisperer, chasing down the whirlwinds in Oklahoma: a country gal with an instinctive knack of knowing where they’re going to spring up. The small-to-midsize talent agency has had it bad — maybe worse than most — in Hollywood over several turbulent years. Consolidation, financial cutbacks, labor strikes and inflation have impacted indie players in the representation space since 2020, even as giant competitors like CAA and WME keep scaling up.
Still, there’s lemonade to be made in a climate where buyers (albeit stingier ones) need content. So it has been at Independent Artists Group, a shop that has used the economic downturn and rampant corporate compression to its advantage — not only in recruiting top agents lost to M&a, but quietly building formidable teams like its media rights group, which works with top fiction and nonfiction authors to farm adaptations for film, TV, podcasts and more.

“Twisters” has something big to compete against — and no, I don’t mean “Twister,” Jan de Bont’s 1996 tornado thriller, which grossed $242 million in the United States and is a movie I adored (I was one of the rare critics who had it on his 10 Best of the Year list). “Twisters,” a stand-alone sequel coming out close to three decades later, will certainly be compared to the original film (to cut to the storm chase: It’s not nearly as good). But it will also, inevitably, be viewed through the scrim of all the real-life tornado footage that’s now readily available to those of us who are couch-potato storm chasers, happy to sit at home watching other people’s close encounters with tornadoes.
This kind of thing was certainly around when “Twister” came out. But there wasn’t nearly as much of it, and it wasn’t as omnipresent.

A stand-alone sequel to the second-biggest summer blockbuster of 1996, Lee Isaac Chung’s “Twisters” might belong to a different millennium than Jan de Bont’s original, and it only shares a single character with that cow-flying classic of early Hollywood CGI (a data machine named Dorothy), but each of these spectacles is swept along by the same creative ethos. To quote a character who’s racing to save as many civilians as he can from the massive tornado that rips through an Oklahoma town during the climax of Chung’s film: “We’ve gotta get everyone into the movie theater!”
Much like its predecessor, this rousing and surprisingly romantic gust of multiplex fun spins a strange combination of genres into a conventionally satisfying ride. Francis Ford Coppola has unveiled the latest collection to his travel portfolio, the All-Movie Hotel in Georgia’s Peachtree City, outside of Atlanta.
With 27 rooms and suites all designed by Coppola, the hotel also features a state-of-the-art production facility with two edit suites with laser projection and Meyer Sound 2.1 monitoring, two edit bays, offices, Adr recording room and a conference room.
Last year, Georgia’s film and television industry generated $4.3 billion. Peachtree is 15 minutes from Trillith Studios, where numerous Marvel projects have shot.
Coppola said he was inspired while filming his latest project “Megalopolis” in Atlanta and wanted to create something that offered hospitality and the functionality needed to make films on any scale. “When I didn’t want to think about the movie, I would think about this hotel, and when I didn’t want to think about the hotel, I’d think about the movie,” Coppola said.

Seven Southeast Asian documentaries and short films are to receive S$140,000 from the Singapore International Film Festival’s Sgiff Film Fund 2024.
The two grant schemes – the Tan Ean Kiam Foundation-sgiff Southeast Asian Documentary Grant (Sea-doc) and Sgiff Southeast Asian Short Film Grant (Sea-shorts) – are intended to champion new voices in Southeast Asian cinema by supporting them in production and post-production.
“We are increasingly seeing filmmakers employing new, imaginative approaches to urgent and timely themes, with some choosing to take a more fantastical or experimental tack. This speaks to the ingenuity and continuing vitality of Southeast Asian cinema and its eagerness to embrace new ways of seeing. The films selected this year fully embody these qualities,” said the festival’s program director Thong Kay Wee.
The selection committee chose three documentary projects in production, each receiving S$30,000 in cash. One project in post-production will also receive a grant of S$20,000.

George Clooney has written an op-ed for The New York Times in which he joins the growing number of Hollywood voices urging Joe Biden to step down as the 2024 Democratic nominee for president. Clooney, who co-hosted a huge Hollywood fundraiser for Biden in June that raised a record $28 million, has seemingly changed his tune after Biden’s disastrous performance in the first presidential debate against Donald Trump.
“I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president,” Clooney wrote. “I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.”
“But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time,” he continued, “None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago...

It was only after fans rewatched the entirety of "The Boys" in preparation for the season 4 premiere that many realized that the actor who played Ryan Butcher in the season 1 finale had been recast with the series' current actor, Cameron Crovetti. With such an expanded role, the creative team wanted a more experienced child actor, and they found that with Crovetti. Fans became so familiar with the performance that they completely forgot the role wasn't originally his, which is understandable considering there was over a year of time separated from season 1 and season 2. Having two actors play one character isn't unheard of and recasting decisions happen all the time, but there's a third actor who has portrayed Ryan Butcher, and this...

Can good old fashioned star power and solid reviews propel “Fly Me to the Moon” to the top of the box office?
Well, even Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, whose names appear above the title, are no match for Gru. “Despicable Me 4” is widely expected to top the charts in its second weekend of release, earning more than $30 million. However, “Fly Me to the Moon,” a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the 1960s’ Space Race, is on track to debut to $12 million. That’s a solid result for a movie aimed at adults, particularly one that’s opening in the midst of summer, a time of year dominated by franchise fare and animated titles.
However, getting Johansson and Tatum to meet cute in the halls of NASA wasn’t a cheap proposition. “Fly Me to the Moon” cost more than $100 million to make, so it’s probably...

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Acolyte" episode 7: "Choice."
It felt like a foregone conclusion that "The Acolyte" would be returning to the secret past of the planet Brendok and the events that led the twins Osha and Mae, as well as the other characters, onto their destined paths. In the third episode, "Destiny", we were introduced to this earlier timeline and only given bits of information about what happened. We were also provided with some tantalizing hints about what could possibly be going on with the planet, the Jedi, and the twins themselves, along with their mysterious circumstances. However, after the latest episode, it's apparent that Brendok, Mae, and Osha might all mean far more to the broader "Star Wars" mythos than we realized ... and one path leads directly to the doorstep of Darth Sidious.

The seventh installment in Shudder’s “V/H/S” series is arriving just in time for Halloween, with a dynamic group of writers and directors contributing segments.
“V/H/S/Beyond,” a Shudder Original Film in association with Studio71, will debut on the horror streamer on Oct. 4, and Variety can exclusively reveal the segment names and filmmakers in this sci-fi-inspired chapter of the anthology series. Per a press release, the film “will feature six new bloodcurdling tapes, placing horror at the forefront of a sci-fi-inspired hellscape.”
Contributors include “The Fall of The House Of Usher” star Kate Siegel, who will be making her directorial debut with “Stowaway,” written by her frequent collaborator and husband Mike Flanagan; brothers Justin and Christian Long, who wrote and directed the segment “Fur Babies”; and Justin Martinez, whose segment “10/31/98,” made alongside his Radio Silence collective, was the final segment in the first “V/H/S” film.

Netflix is the expert at getting us to stay on our couches. So why does it want us to leave our house and go to the streamer’s?
In 2025, Netflix will launch “Netflix House,” aka brick-and-mortar fan venues located in former department stores in Dallas, Texas, and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. They will offer food, shops, and immersive experiences based on and inspired by Netflix shows and films. Your local zombie mall could have a new lease on life as a Netflix theme park.
Details remain scant, but the Netflix announcement referred to waltzing in a “Bridgerton”-inspired ballroom, competing in a “Squid Game” challenge, and buying a Hellfire T-shirt at a “Stranger Things” shop. Maybe they’ll also have a bakery with cakes that don’t look like cake.
Pop-up experiences aren’t new to Netflix; it’s executed Netflix Bites and live fan events around shows like “Stranger Things...
