Paramount+’s spy thriller The Agency has found its lead spy.
Michael Fassbender will star in the espionage thriller (formerly titled The Department), which is based on the French series Le Bureau des Legendes and has started production. The two-time Oscar nominee will also serve as an executive producer of the show, which will stream on the platform’s Paramount+ With Showtime tier.
The series from Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios earned a straight-to-series order at Showtime in February 2023, before the premium cable outlet was effectively folded into Paramount+. George Clooney and Grant Heslov are executive producing the show; Jez and John-Henry Butterworth are writing all 10 episodes, and Joe Wright will direct the first two installments.

Here’s a little secret about being in the studio audience at a taping of The Price is Right: Even if you don’t get the famous call to “come on down” and play TV’s longest-running game show, there’s a good chance you’ll still win time with host Drew Carey, who’s commanded the skinny mic since 2007. On the day TV Insider visited set to chat with Carey about his ascension to longest-serving game show host currently on air (he inherited the title after Pat Sajak’s sign-off from Wheel of Fortune), the comedian and actor happily made his way through the gleeful, 175-strong crowd during filming breaks. In the front row, Carey spotted a man in a ballcap identifying him as a Vietnam veteran. Carey, a one-time Marine reservist, thanked him for his service, asked a few questions about the man’s life, and then told...

It’s hard to believe that Ken Burns has had a rule for what subject matter he takes on, given that the diversity of his work ranges from “The Civil War” and “Vietnam” to “Baseball” and “Jazz.” But he is finally breaking through that limitation — sort of.
Burns’s latest two-part documentary on Leonard da Vinci, a collaboration with his daughter Sarah Burns and son-in-law David McMahon, is his first non-American subject and has to be by default; the United States wouldn’t be founded for more than 250 years after da Vinci’s death in 1519. But Burns is claiming the Italian polymath for America, anyway, or at least he did so with tongue in cheek at his talk, “In Their Shoes with Ken Burns,” given at the Nantucket Film Festival, which concludes June 24.
“The thing that was my balm throughout the whole [filmmaking] period is that a contemporary of Leonardo’s in Florence was Amerigo Vespucci,...

One such got shut down in dramatic fashion Monday (June 24) morning when Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt repeatedly attacked the moderators, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, as being “biased” against Trump, causing CNN This Morning anchor Kasie Hunt to cut her interview short. The View host Whoopi Goldberg introduced a clip of the exchange, which included Hunt insisting the two “have acquitted themselves as professionals as they have covered campaigns and interviewed candidates from all sides of the aisle,” and adding, “If you are attacking the moderators, you are usually losing.” Goldberg, for one, was positively giddy over the exchange when reviewing it in the “Hot Topics” segment of Monday’s episode,...

When discussing “House of the Dragon” Season 2 with IndieWire, there was one aspect showrunner Ryan Condal could freely share: his excitement for new cast members to shine who didn’t have as much to do in Season 1. At the forefront of that group are Tom Glynn-Carney and Phia Saban who play siblings and spouses (that’s Westeros for ya!) Aegon and Helaena Targaryen, whose inner turmoil and troubled relationship comes to the forefront in Season 2, Episode 2.
“They’re fantastic actors, and they’re very well realized characters that we spent a lot of time thinking about and crafting them in a way that would be interesting and unexpected,” Condal told IndieWire at the Season 2 press junket. “Both of them came back in with a lot of great ideas about how to embody those characters, and what their relationship was like, their marriage was like, and I think you see all that reflected on screen.

Slide in a “Do Not Disturb” sign and pour yourself some tequila (body shot optional), because it’s time to catch up with the crew from Perfect Match Season 2.
All season long, the Netflix Reality Universe’s most eligible singles have been mixing, matching to their heart's content in hopes of finding the man or woman of their dreams. That, of course, is easier said than done, as the couples are put to the test, enduring diabolically raunchy challenges — from blindfolded kissing to suspended thrusting — and battling temptations galore with every new arrival in the villa.
Naturally, some were more successful than others, but, hey, it’s all about the situationships they made along the way, right? Everything comes to a head in the jaw-dropping finale — and it’s safe to say Harry wasn’t the only one screaming, crying, and throwing up, etc. after all was revealed.

“The Boys” co-creator and illustrator Darick Robertson recently confirmed to Rolling Stone that an early attempt to bring the comic book series to screen was through a film trilogy from director Adam McKay. This was back in 2008 before the launch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe helped turn comic book movies into the most profitable genre at the box office.
It all started with Seth Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg got their hands on the first issue of “The Boys” comic book.

The Outstanding Talk Series category was initially projected to only have three nomination slots this year, which would have been a huge bummer, because the primary issue people have with it is that it’s just more of the same every year.

She continued, “Oh my gosh. Alex is pregnant! My first baby is having her first baby. My child is going to have a child.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Alex Wagner and Chris Hayes look nothing like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Potomac or Salt Lake City who have held forth for years on sister cable outlet Bravo. Come September, there might be some similarities.
MSNBC plans to hold an immersive day-long event for die-hard fans of the progressive-tinged news-and-discussion outlet, one that will put more than a dozen of its hosts and anchors in front of hundreds of attendees at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Participants will be able to hear from Jen Psaki, Joy Reid, Katy Tur and Ari Melber, among others.

A contestant on last week’s The Price Is Right at Night faced the pressure of the Gas Money game and ended up taking a massive gamble that paid off in $20,000 and a brand new car. The contestant in question was ER nurse Rachel. As host Drew Carey explained, the trick of the game is, “You cannot pick the car price until the very end or at all, or you win nothing at all.” Rachel was shown five cards, each with different prices on them, but only one of them was the real price of the Range Rover SUV. The other cards all contained cash values on the reverse; so long as Rachel kept picking those cards, she could accumulate up to $20,000. “You can accumulate money along the way and stop whenever you want. So, do not pick the car price first,” Carey warned Rachel as she looked to the studio audience for advice.
