Just hours after news broke that Jeremy Renner was cast in Rian Johnson’sWake Up Dead Man,” another actress enters the growing ensemble’s ranks. This time, it’s Mila Kunis. Deadline reports that she’ll join Renner, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, and Andrew Scott in the upcoming “Knives Out‘ sequel.  And Daniel Craig is in there too, obviously, reprising his role as Benoit Blanc.

And it’s safe to assume that Johnson isn’t done with major casting yet; expect a couple more names to be announced by the time the weekend starts.  Johnson writes and directs “Wake Up Dead Man,” as he did for the 2019 film and its sequel, 2022’s “Glass Onion.” He also produces with his partner Ram Bergman through his T-Street banner. The upcoming sequel is the second film in Netflix‘s $450 million two-picture deal for more “Knives Out” movies, with the streamer planning a 2025 release.

“Wake Up Dead Man” sees Kunis reunite with her co-star Close from the 2020 addiction drama “Four Good Days.” Other recent work for the “Bad Moms” actress includes “Luckiest Girl Alive” and “Breaking News In Yuba County.” Up next for Kunis? The comedy “Goodrich” with Michael Keaton and Andie McDowell, currently in post-production.

So who else will join Johnson’s new “Knives Out” troupe before the week is out? Production on “Wake Up Dead Man” starts next month, so expect more names added to this already packed cast list before then.
