Fifth Harmony Announces Indefinite Hiatus to Pursue Solo Careers

Camila Cabello left the group in December

Fifth Harmony has announced a hiatus so the individual members can pursue their solo careers after six years of being together.

“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” announced the group on Instagram. “We do have some upcoming shows through the end of the year which will still happen as planned, and we can’t wait!”

The group is comprised of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and previously Camila Cabello, who left the group on December 18 to pursue her own solo career. The group was formed in the second season of “The X Factor” in 2012.

Fifth Harmony’s biggest hits include “Work from Home,” “Worth It,” “All in My Head” and “Miss Movin’ On.” The group won four iHeartRadio Music Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards, six Teen Choice Awards and one Billboard Women in Music award.

Cabello released her debut solo album, titled “Camila,” in January. Over the past year, each member had released or been featured on a project outside of the group. Jauregui, for example, appeared on songs with Halsey and Steve Aoki. Kordei worked with Khalid on “Love Lies” for the “Love, Simon” soundtrack.

“We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals,” the group wrote. “In doing this, we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”
