Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.
After Vision died at the hands of Thanos in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” he returned twice over in 2021’s “WandaVision,” first as a spectral creation by his beloved, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), through magic powered by grief; then as a rebuilt, nuts-and-bolts android with a ghost white appearance and zero memory of his past life. When the two Visions battled in the “WandaVision” finale, Wanda’s Vision restored the ghost Vision’s memories, then Wanda allowed her Vision to fade from existence. The new show will take place after those events, as ghost Vision presumably explores his new purpose in life.

A jaded nation rediscovered its capacity for shock last week when a photo surfaced of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito flying an upside-down American flag in the days after the January 6 insurrection. That a Scotus judge would strip away all veneer of impartiality concerning an armed attack on the very foundations of American democracy by publicly signaling his support for those storming the Capitol Building to prop up defeated Republican ringleader Donald Trump was enough to make even centrists catch their breath. At least before immediately accepting Alito’s nonsense excuse that his wife did it because the neighbors were mean. But at least that was just a one-time treasonous thing from a guy who joined his right-wing Scotus colleagues in slow-walking a decision...

One Wheel of Fortune‘s guess in the latest game left his fellow competitors scratching their heads and plenty of fans laughing as Tavaris responded to a “Phrase” puzzle with, “Right in the butt!” Tavaris’ enthusiastic answer stirred up an audible gasp from the game’s live audience as shock overtook them and even led one of the other players to go, “What?!” Ultimately, host Pat Sajak jumped in to inform Tavaris, “No,” that wasn’t the correct phrase. In the end, Tavaris’ guess wasn’t even the correct amount of characters for the board. Dawg pic.twitter.com/xDBiJq8FuG — Big Cat (@BarstoolBigCat) May 24, 2024 The corresponding phrase turned out to be “This is the best,” which even Tavaris admitted was a “better answer.” While the blunder may have left Tavaris a little shaken, Sajak made sure to let the player know, “You’ve already made an impression on us.

Summer is here!
What better way to celebrate than by curling up on your couch (hopefully with some blasting AC) and not moving for several hours? Sounds dreamy. In June, there are plenty of new options coming to Netflix for summer couch potatoes, including “The Conjuring” movies for horror fans and “On the Basis of Sex,” an early Ruth Bader Ginsberg biopic that is hella charming.
On the TV front, look out for the return of “The Mole,” a very fun reality show that will help you beat the heat, as well as, thank goodness, the return of a certain phenomenon that just broke Netflix records.

Sasha Pieterse will always have fond memories of her days in Rosewood, but there’s one piece of Pretty Little Liars herstory that she’d gladly rewrite if given the chance.
Like many fans of the ABC Family-turned-Freeform drama, Pieterse is still unhappy that her character, iconic reformed bad girl Alison Dilaurentis, wound up getting divorced in the series’ short-lived spinoff. Viewers spent seven seasons ‘shipping Alison and Emily (Shay Mitchell), and their patience was rewarded when the series ended with #Emison in a seemingly happy marriage. Like millions of people around the world, Sam and Nia Rader’s lives were upended after Ashley Madison’s user data was released to the public — but up until that point, they appeared to live a picture-perfect life as a Christian couple. In Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal, Sam and Nia go before the camera to reveal what happened before, during, and after the popular website for arranging extramarital affairs was hacked. Today, Sam and Nia are still together following the Ashley Madison scandal — and still reflecting on everything that happened.
“It’s still shocking to me that things like this exist,” Nia tells Tudum.
Before the hack, Sam and Nia regularly filmed the minutiae of their family’s daily lives — grocery trips, car rides — and packaged them into vlogs for their popular YouTube channel. Over the years, the Rader family’s antics caught broader attention more than once. In...

June is busting out all over, especially on streaming. Whether it’s hiding from the heat or taking a break from school and work, Disney+ and Hulu are here to satisfying your mid-year entertainment needs.
Disney+ will premiere the first new live-action Star Wars since 2023’s middling to “The Mandalorian” Season 3 and “Ahsoka” with “The Acolyte,” starring “Squid Game” breakout Lee Jung-jae. The series is set before the events of “The Phantom Menace” with a familiar master-padawan storyline but new characters and a new era where that dynamic unfolds. The streamer will also premiere various new options for kids and family-friendly programming, as well as new episodes of “Doctor Who” starring Ncuti Gatwa.
On Hulu, FX comes in hot for the summer, along with an adaptation of Candice Carty-Williams’s “Queenie,” the brat-pack documentary “Brats,” and yes — more “Love Island.” The TV and film library continues to shift with new and expiring titles,...

Eric Kripke is gonna catch ’em all. “The Boys” showrunner has slowly but surely been casting the stars of the iconic CW series “Supernatural,” which Kripke created, on his R-rated Amazon Prime Video superhero drama. And he’s got one “very big one” he’s eyeing to bring on in Season 5, even if it’s for “a single episode” — Jared Padalecki, a.k.a. Sam Winchester.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert might host comedy shows, but according to a new poll, they’re about as trusted as serious news anchors.
The Hollywood Reporter and decision intelligence firm Morning Consult asked 2,239 adults in the U.S. how much they trusted various TV hosts. While the survey’s focus was mostly on news anchors, three politically-inclined late-night hosts were also included in the survey—and performed favorably.
The survey was conducted over two days in early May, well into Jon Stewart’s run as Monday-night host of The Daily Show.
Asked “How much do you trust [insert anchor name here]?,” respondents had a choice of 5 answers: “A lot,” “Some,” “Not much,” “Not at all,” or “Don’t know / No opinion.”
Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert fared about the same: 57% of those surveyed said they had either “a lot” or “some” trust in both hosts.

Martha (Jessica Gunning), the riveting stalker from Netflix’s buzzy “Baby Reindeer,” is unlike any character ever tackled by costume designer Mekel Bailey. She’s a complex, shape-shifting sociopath. But to get inside Martha’s chaotic inner world and reflect her changing moods, Bailey scoured London thrift stores and put together a wardrobe of mismatched colors and prints (he even threw in a few outfits that belonged to his grandmother).
“There’s moments when she’s angry and then there’s moments when she’s sad,” Bailey told IndieWire. “There’s moments when she’s loving and happy. So this roller coaster of emotions then played into the color palette and all these clashes of tones of prints with her as well. Understanding all of these different elements of Martha, understanding the shape side of it, and understanding the color. We then had a massive fitting day with Jess, and...

Here’s everything we know about The Cleaning Lady Season 4, including its cast and possible release date and more. The Cleaning Lady killed off another main character in Season 3 finale Lewis Jacobs / Fox The two-part finale, “Fight or Flight” and “House of Cards,” began with Thony (Élodie Yung) working with FBI agent Jeremy (Brandon Jay McLaren) to keep Nadia (Eva de Dominici) hidden. Another school year has come to an end on Abbott Elementary. Despite being on the shorter side due to the dual Hollywood strikes, Season 3 of ABC’s hit mockumentary sitcom has been stellar overall — in just 14 episodes, it’s tackled teaching woes, career pivots, breakups, and plenty of other shenanigans.
This season has heavily focused on Janine’s (Quinta Brunson) district storyline, leaving her will-they/won’t-they? romance with Gregory (Tyler James Williams) mostly just simmering in the background. Although fans have been invested in the couple from the very beginning, the show has never been in a real rush for them to actually get together.

David Guglielmo doesn’t have an acting background, but he has an empathy and understanding for actors that serves him – and others – as a casting director.
