Claymation legends Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham will offer stop-motion fans a sneak peek at their upcoming Wallace & Gromit film at this year’s Annecy animation festival.
The still-untitled feature will see inveterate, cheese-loving inventor Wallace designing a “smart gnome” for the family garden who begins to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it is up to faithful dog Gromit to put things right. Park and Crossingham co-directed the film, based on a story by Park and a screenplay from Shaun the Sheep and Gnomeo & Juliet writer Mark Burton.
The film, which will premiere on Netflix worldwide outside the U.K., where it will have a first-release window on the BBC, is the second feature from Aardman Animations based on the beloved characters, following the Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) and the series of award-winning shorts, including Oscar-winners The Wrong...

Jon Stewart used the April 22 episode of “The Daily Show” to eviscerate the media for giving way too much attention to Donald Trump’s ongoing hush money trial. The host said the legal battle is both “a test of the fairness of the American legal system” and “a test of the media’s ability to cover Donald Trump in a responsible way.” Stewart determined that the media is failing when it comes to the latter.

Under the Bridge unravels the true story of teen Reena Virk’s (Vritika Gupta) murder in late-’90s British Columbia, plucking the narrative from Rebecca Godfrey’s novel of the same name, but when it comes to Hulu‘s adaptation, the inclusion of Rebecca (Riley Keough) as a character as well as cop Cam Bentland (Lily Gladstone) are new elements for the story itself. Despite Godfrey not being a featured character in the book, Keough had a wealth of information to pull from. “For my character anyway, there was so much about Rebecca. I was lucky that I had a lot of resources,” she points out. “I had poems she wrote and videos and photos and all these things to sort of get a sense of who she was.” Disney / PictureGroup Godfrey died roughly a week after Hulu picked up Under the Bridge to series but had worked for two...

If you’ve rewatched Everybody Loves Raymond in recent years, you have something in common with Ray Romano. The actor has revealed he’s spent the last few years watching all 210 episodes of the hit sitcom for the first time. Not only did he watch every single episode, he rated each one and figured out which ones he thinks are the series’ best. Romano rated each episode on a scale of one to 100, but 96 was the highest score he gave. ““We were never perfect,” he told People. “I got on a little kick there. I hadn’t seen the episodes,” he explained. “They took on a new look to me. I was appreciating them more. I’m going to say Roberta Flack,” she says. Thicke is going a different route with the Supremes clue as well as looking at a gold wedding band clue.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Shōgun” Episode 10, “A Dream of a Dream,” including the ending.]
As a sweeping samurai epic, “Shōgun” understands it’s meant to end a certain way. Opposing parties draw swords, don their armor, and square off on the battlefield. Tensions teased over nine hours erupt in the roar of combat. That’s how grand conflicts regarding the future of great nations have been decided for centuries, and it’s only natural for a visual medium like film (or prestige television) to embrace war’s inherent spectacle. Soldiers charging down a hillside, canons firing across an open plain, horses galloping through fields filled with bodies either dead or clinging to life, as the grass under their feet quickly deteriorates into muddied, bloodied slop. These are the scenes we expect in an epic’s ending.
Because we’ve seen those images so many times — slain men strewn over blackened trenches — it’s easy...

Luckily, Nikki and Jason won their court case against their adopted children’s biological grandmother, and with that out of the way, all their worries were over.
Ok, not quite. “Trying” takes a warts-and-all approach to parenthood (if not life in general), so there will always be concerns, big and small, for the family to deal with — the key is sticking together, no matter how trying things get. Season 4 brings a fresh set of family matters, as the story jumps six years into...

There aren’t very many shows about the college experience, but Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls captures this chapter of life with a solid mix of humor, heart, and messiness. Created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, the comedy centers on four roommates — Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Leighton (Reneé Rapp), Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott), and Bela (Amrit Kaur) — as they juggle classes, relationships, and friendships at the prestigious Essex College.

Comedian Ray Ellin remembers watching Little House on the Prairie from an early age and being captivated by the Ingalls family adventures in Walnut Grove. His love of the American western drama only grew stronger as a teenager into adulthood when the series landed in syndication. Ray Ellin “The show has a bit of everything; drama, suspense, love, villains, action, occasionally comedy,” Ellin said. “I liked watching both the caring, healthy families, as well as the dysfunctional ones.” “They were constantly overcoming adversity, and I think as a kid I found that intriguing. It’s fun watching the bad guy, but it was also good to watch people come together either as a family or community. And as a kid, seeing the strong kids defend the weak ones felt good to watch.” Ellin turned this devotion into a weekly podcast Wild Nights on the Prairie with Ray Ellin. The show...

Barbara Walters was one of the most influential people to ever hit the American airwaves, but her story was more complex than just being a trailblazer of network news. Hitting shelves on Tuesday, April 23, is Susan Page’s The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters, a biography chronicling her entire life and career. The book is rich with details about what made Walters tick even as a child and how cutthroat she could be when it came to protecting her hardwon place atop ABC News. There are a lot of details in the book that are uplifting, saddening, and downright shocking. Here we’ll outline a few of the most surprising things we learned about Barbara Walters from The Rulebreaker. She didn’t like SNL parodies of her, but warmed up to them in a touching way On the one hand, being impersonated on SNL is something of...

New Kids on the Block band member Jonathan Knight knows how to work a stage, but he is also pretty handy. That’s been shown on his hit HGTV series Farmhouse Fixer in which he stars with designer Kristina Crestin. The duo is back for Season 3, which premieres April 23, where they’ll work together to renovate New England farmhouses, many of which are 200-300 years old. Knight and Crestin have built a solid foundation of satisfied clients with their show. So much so that Barbara and Chris, owners of the John Proctor house from Season 2, have called the pair to help again with their property connected with the Salem witch trials. After their bedroom and bathroom remodel project, they returned to find a pipe burst that caused costly damage in another area of the house and will require the removal of black mold. When we caught up with the dynamic...

When it comes to The Facts of Life, former star Mindy Cohn knows a thing or two, but when she stopped by the TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine offices to chat about her new Apple TV+ show Palm Royale, she couldn’t help but reflect on her relationship with the long-running publication. “I remember the cover shoot and I remember being on the cover. It was so major,” Cohn recalls of the first time she and her Facts of Life costars graced the cover of TV Guide Magazine. “I mean, this was more important than an Emmy nom! This was like, ‘We made the cover of TV Guide. I think we’re doing okay kids!'” Cohn remembers. TV Guide Magazine “I remember the shoot, I remember our wardrobe being picked and us having a say about it.” According to the actress who played Natalie Green in the Norman Lear series,...

Jon Stewart surprised his audience and viewers at home Monday when his critique of recent over-the-top cable news coverage of the Trump Trial was interrupted by former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams.
“Jessica! How are you? Are you down at the courthouse to give us a report?”
“Uh, yeah, I am,” replied Williams. And here’s my report: Jon Stewart hates fun.”
Stewart, who struggled to keep it together during Williams’ appearance Monday night seemed genuinely tickled to be working with her again. The two appeared to go off-script at least a couple times, with Stewart at one point exclaiming “I’ve missed you terribly,” and Williams saying the same.
The former correspondent sang Stewart’s praises in a 2023 interview with People Magazine in which she called him “one of the best bosses ever.”
“A lot of things made Jon a great boss, but he’s just a nice man...

Missed Monday’s late-night monologues? We’ve got you covered with our round-up of the night’s best laughs from across the dial.
Trial Media on Trial
There were only two late-night hosts on duty in a week when opening arguments in Donald Trump’s election interference trial began. Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel alone, therefore, were left to apply their signature takes to the official start of the first-ever criminal trial for a former U.S. President, one which not only hinges on Trump’s alleged affair with (and subsequent hush money payment to) adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but where the first witness to be called will be the former National Enquirer publisher and Trump pal whose name happens to be David Pecker. (Who is alleged to have both planted fake stories about Trump opponents and bought and buried stories damning to Trump.)

The actor told us more about filming the adrenaline-pumping installment in our weekly after show NCIS: Case Closed. Parker allowed himself to be kidnapped along with a real cardiac specialist, Navy Commander Clara Logan (Christina Kirk), who was being taken to operate on Colombian drug kingpin Carlos Savina (Juan Javier Cardenas). [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the April 22 episode of Jeopardy!] If you tuned in to the April 22 episode of Jeopardy!, you likely noticed that there was something different about one of the contestants during half of the Jeopardy! round. Marko Saric, a math professor from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, returned with a two-day total of $26,600 and faced off against Elly Trickett, a blog & podcast editor from Danbury, Connecticut, and Nam Nguyen, a playwright from Mississauga, Ontario. Saric was dominating at the first break of the Jeopardy! round, leading $9,000 to Nguyen’s $2,400 and Trickett’s $1,000. What viewers may or may not have noticed is that Trickett did not have her glasses on for the interviews portion of the episode nor the rest of that first round; Trickett had given the last correct response and appeared to be reaching into her pocket when host Ken Jennings instructed her to select the next clue. Trickett, after answering only two questions ...

Yes, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is the target of the first-ever roast that will be telecast live, and unedited as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest. The Greatest Roast of All Time — or Groat if you will — will be hosted by Kevin Hart at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, featuring surprise guests from the worlds of sports, comedy, and entertainment. Brady’s thoughts? “No f—ing problem,” he says in the trailer for the roast. Comedian Jeff Ross, aka the “Roastmaster General,” warns him, “We’re coming for you, pretty boy.” But...
