Writers at Sesame Workshop reached a five-year agreement with the production company behind “Sesame Street,” averting the possibility of picket lines popping up in the show’s friendly neighborhood.

After renewing 11 scripted shows for 2024-25, CBS has made its first cancellations of the spring.
The network says second-year dramedy So Help Me Todd and drama CSI: Vegas, which is in its third season, won’t return. The two shows were among just a handful of CBS scripted series whose futures were up in the air as of Friday.
CSI: Vegas is averaging about 6.4 million viewers per episode in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings, and So Help Me Todd draws about 6.3 million. They’re likely to be the two most watched shows to get the ax this season (not including the pre-announced end for Young Sheldon), but the bar is a bit higher at CBS — which has 12 of the top 15 scripted series since mid-February, when broadcasters rolled out their post-strike lineups — than elsewhere.

If you’re a fan of the hit ABC drama series 9-1-1, chances are that you’re eagerly anticipating a Buck and Eddie romance. And if that’s the case, it seems like you’re in luck, because actor Oliver Stark, who plays Evan “Buck” Buckley on the show, just revealed that he is also on board with this idea. “I’m open to it. You know, there’s obviously stuff there and there’s a chemistry between us,” Stark said on the latest episode of the Zach Sang Show. “Yeah, if it goes there then I think it would be [something I would do].” Stark has been portraying Buck, a firefighter at Station 118 of the Los Angeles Fire Department, since Season 1. Fans of the show were first introduced to Eddie Diaz (played by Ryan Guzman) when he joined the station on Season 2. The two characters became quick friends, but remained strictly platonic...

Ewan McGregor went on the record earlier this year about his feelings regarding faux facial hair, which led to the star of “A Gentleman in Moscow” growing his own mustache. But while the mustache is real, the series requires McGregor’s Count Rostov to age decades over the course of eight episodes. Creating a believable transformation required close collaboration with the limited series’ hair and makeup lead Jacqui Fowler.
“As a designer, you don’t want him to look the same as how he’s looked in the past,” Fowler told IndieWire. “And it’s quite hard because he’s got an eclectic mix of work. We thrashed around some ideas. At first, he mentioned wigs. And I was like, ‘Oh no, no, no, let’s not do wigs. Let’s do it on your own hair.'”

Sparks represented the U.S. in the 1994 Curtis Cup team and earned recognition as an All-America selection at Duke University. The good news: We already know there’s going to be a Law & Order: Svu Season 26, which is good after the teases we’ve gotten about this spring’s finale from star Peter Scanavino. “You’re definitely going to see some familiar faces from this season, and it’s going to come full circle for a lot of characters,” he tells TV Insider. As for whether it ends on a cliffhanger, “yes and no, I’m not going to say any more about it.” Speaking specifically about Carisi in the last episode of the season, the case is one “he’s super invested in,” according to Scanavino. Furthermore, “there is definitely a character that has a nice emotional journey in that episode and it might be unexpected for some viewers.” Looking ahead to next season, the actor wants to see how work affects Carisi at home and the tensions that result.

Though he is technically director and showrunner of “The Jinx,” there’s no denying that Andrew Jarecki is now also one of its characters.
While filming Season 1 of the smash hit HBO docuseries, Jarecki and collaborators Zac-Stuart Pointier and Marc Smerling stepped out from behind the camera when it became clear that they stumbled upon critical evidence incriminating documentary subject Robert Durst. They turned that evidence into law enforcement and elicited Durst’s hot mic showstopper: “Killed them all, of course.” Durst was indicted just days before the finale, creating an unprecedented cultural juggernaut.
As a result, “The Jinx – Part Two” becomes an extraordinary specimen, a piece of TV in which the show and its creators have become part of the unbelievable, sprawling narrative that starts and ends with Durst. As much as we’d love to see an FBIs crossover wedding—John Boyd and Shantel VanSanten are now on different shows, with Nina now part of the Fugitive Task Force on Most Wanted, so it could happen!—that’s not what’s in store for one of the spinoffs this spring. Because while VanSanten did tease to TV Insider, “There’s some bells on the horizon for some lucky winner in the finale of Most Wanted,” she wasn’t talking about her own character. Rather, as CBS’ official description of the finale, “Powderfinger,” airing May 21, reveals, it’s Ray (Edwin Hodge) who will be preparing to celebrate a major life milestone with his wedding to Cora (Caroline Harris) approaching. As for the case, the team will be busy racing to catch the culprit threatening Manhattan with a dirty bomb. Let’s hope that doesn’t interfere with the wedding!

The fate of “Euphoria” Season 3 has been a constantly evolving topic since Season 2 finale ended in February 2022. Sam Levinson’s high school drama cemented itself as a cultural phenomenon after its first two seasons on HBO — but as many cast members saw their careers skyrocket, the task of reassembling everyone became increasingly challenging.
But even as the likes of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi continue to build film careers, the show was scheduled to resume production in summer 2024. Levinson had revealed that the third season, which he described as a “film noir,” would jump forward five years in time and follow the show’s cast as they establish their adult lives outside of East Highland High School. But as reports of creative differences and logistical struggles began to circulate, HBO announced in March that the cast had been released to pursue other opportunities this summer.

Gov. Phil Murphy has made TV and film a top priority for New Jersey ever since he took the helm of the Garden State in 2018. This week, Murphy made a West Coast swing to talk artificial intelligence with firms in the Bay Area and to talk new business with studios in Hollywood. Murphy’s targeted courtship has helped spark a building boom across New Jersey for soundstages and production facilities. Here Murphy discusses the impact of the state’s production tax incentive program and why he sees Georgia as a bigger rival for luring productions than neighboring New York.

Netflix viewers have a new obsession and it goes by the name of Baby Reindeer. The dark dramedy from playwright Richard Gadd tells the story of Donny Dunn, a struggling comedian who has a twisted relationship with his female stalker Martha (The Outlaws‘ Jessica Gunning). Baby Reindeer tracks the impact of this relationship Donny has with Martha and the deeply buried trauma that he’s forced to confront because of it. For those less clued into the lore of Baby Reindeer, this might seem like a story too wild to be true, but it is, in fact, a true story. Based on Gadd’s Edinburgh Fringe one-man play, Baby Reindeer recounts his own personal experience with a stalker. Netflix “It’s a true story,” Gadd revealed to Netflix’s Tudum. “In a weird way, I first started feeling like this could be a good story during the whole ordeal itself.

Rocky Carroll told TV Insider while talking to us for our NCIS: Case Closed aftershow for the 1,000th episode that the Season 21 finale will leave things up in the air for one of the characters (not Vance), and now that CBS has released the official description of the episode, we have more information. In “Reef Madness,” airing on May 6, according to CBS, “Parker [Gary Cole] and Knight [Katrina Law] discover three bodies on an old Navy ship that’s about to be sunk and turned into an artificial reef, when they’re suddenly locked inside by a mysterious figure. Also, Vance offers Knight a unique opportunity.” Now, Carroll’s teases about the end of NCIS Season 21 make much more sense. “I’m always amazed at how every time you think that we can’t top ourselves as far as the team getting in danger and getting in trouble, we seem...

Just over a week ago, S.W.A.T. was looking at its series finale airing on May 17. But now, the CBS drama has been uncanceled (for the second time!), and instead, “Twenty Squad” will be the Season 7 finale—though nothing had to be changed, as star and executive producer Shemar Moore tells TV Insider. According to CBS, in the episode, Swat faces their deadliest adversary yet when a violent cell of extremists looks to exact vengeance by blowing up half of Los Angeles, potentially killing thousands. Still reeling from the anger and outrage directed at him by his own community, Hondo (Moore) questions if he still has what it takes to lead 20-Squad, adding to the fear that he won’t be able to pull the team together in time to save the city. With that, “art is imitating life,” Moore tells us. “Shemar—me—wondering, do I need to start thinking about my next chapter?...

Long live the new queen! Season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race reached its dramatic conclusion on Friday, culminating with a lip sync smackdown for the crown.
This time around, it really was any queen’s game. A recent TVLine poll was split almost completely evenly between the final trio — Nymphia Wind, Plane Jane and Sapphira Cristál — with Sapphira edging out her tied competitors by only a single percent. Even the queens’ track records are remarkably similar; Plane and Sapphira each have four wins under their belts, while Nymphia has three.

Marko Saric might not have had the most impressive one-day cash winnings coming into his second game of Jeopardy!, but he still had the title of “champion”, and that’s what counts! Now, he’s got a lot more to boast about. On Friday’s episode, Saric officially made it a streak by besting contestants Molly Fitzpatrick and Scott Nations. Saric, who’s a math professor from North Carolina, started with $3,799 and ended the day with $26,600 in a two-day total. As a mathematician, he’ll no doubt agree that the growth rate of his winnings is impressive. Saric didn’t dominate all game, of course. The first round saw him get 11 correct and 2 incorrect for $4,800, just slightly above Fitzpatrick’s $4,000 and double that of Nations at $2,400. Really, though, if Fitzpatrick had just gotten her Daily Double question correct, she would’ve been well ahead of him in round one. Round...

Molly Shannon just might be HBO’s newest muse. As Deadline reports, the Emmy-nominated actress is set to star in an as-yet-untitled new comedy series for the cable network, which will be written by her former Saturday Night Live colleague Steve Koren. The duo will co-executive produce the new series.
As far as the plot goes, Deadline writes that Shannon will play a woman who is “deeply addicted to celebrity news and gossip. After friends and family finally confront her, she agrees to get help. Where? The same place where the stars get help—a fancy celebrity rehab in Malibu.”
Think of it as immersion therapy, Hollywood-style. Once there, Shannon’s character actually gets the chance to meet the celebrities she’s only read about—and manages to befriend a famous young actress who encourages her to ditch her family and follow her back to L.A.

Next week is shaping up to be particularly quiet one in late night, with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Saturday Night Live still on an extended Spring break, and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert set to join them.
That will leave just three shows producing new episodes: Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show, and After Midnight.
That’s not to say that the others will be out on the beach drinking Mai Tais. Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers were both in Los Angeles this past week participating in promotional events for their shows, and Colbert will be following in their footsteps Sunday, as he and The Late Show team are scheduled to talk up their show at LA’s Dolby Theater as part of this year’s PaleyFest.
Meanwhile, at least a half dozen SNL cast members are out on the road.
