This $250 electronic lens adapter is perfect for Nikon Z-mount curious Sony shooters — shhh, we won’t tell anyone.
Some basics
Not necessarily a thread but just an experience.
Z6ii and Godox.
Set up my still life photo shoot.
Put my Nikon 105 mm f 2.8 MC lens on my Z6ii and took the photo. Flash did not fire.
Hmmm. The trigger IS talking to the flash head. So what the hell, z6ii?
Did some homework…..
The D5 setting on my Z6ii is set to auto so maybe it’s choosing electronic shutter and if it is the flash wont fire.
Can’t select mechanical shutter because it’s greyed out.
More homework……
Apparently Nikon lenses with VR won’t allow one to select mechanical shutter.
Excellent.
Put my Nikon 24 – 120mm f4 S lens on the Z6ii.
Checked D5. Mechanical shutter still greyed out.
Did some more homework……
Some Nikon lenses, (not necessarily only those with VR) won’t allow mechanical shutter to be chosen. Apparently the 24-120 F4 is one of `those’.
Excellent.
Put my Nikon 105mm f 2.5 AIS lens (needed the focal length) on my z6ii
Bingo!
Turned on mechanical shutter and took the photo.
Flash worked like a charm
Bob’s your uncle. At least he was until he died.
Just for what its might be worth for some folks
Cheers for now
