Among the herd was also an ibex kid with an injured leg.

The hikers provided first-aid to the wounded ibex, and transferred it to Israel Nature and Parks Authority for further treatment.

With the assistance of the Arava Rescue Volunteers Unit and Israel Nature and Parks Authority veterinarian Roni King, Israel Nature and Parks Authority inspectors rescued the herd with ropes and returned the ibexes to their natural habitat.
