Norbert Strauss of Teaneck, who was 11 years old and lived in Germany on Kristallnacht, will tell the story of his family’s escape to the United States on Sunday, November 5, at 7 p.m., in commemoration of Kristallnacht. Mr. Strauss will speak to an in-person gathering at Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains, and on Zoom. Kristallnacht, known as the night of broken glass, was a mass assault on the Jewish communities in Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia on November 9–10, 1938. Mr. Strauss has dedicated much of his life to teaching about the Holocaust, focusing on Kristallnacht. For the Zoom link, go sholomnj.org or call (908) 889-4900.
