Area Description:

Inshore waters between Cape Kidnappers and Portland Island.

Situation:

A series of troughs over the North Island weaken late Tuesday as the low moves away to the east. A ridge of high pressure lies slow moving over the country on Wednesday, while a trough moves over the lower South Island and becomes slow moving. An active front moves up the South Island late Thursday and across the North Island during Friday, followed by strong, cold southerlies. A low deepens on the front to the east of the North Island late Friday.
