Hear Live Rip Through Previously Unreleased Track ‘Hold Me Up’
Nineties alt-rock outfit Live unveiled a previously unreleased song, “Hold Me Up,” which will appear on the 25th anniversary edition of their 1994 album, Throwing Copper, out July 19th via Radioactive/McA/Ume.

Recorded during the Throwing Copper sessions, “Hold Me Up” moves from a soft, dreamy verse to a thunderous chorus. The track eventually sticks in high gear as the band powers through a heavy bridge, complete with a wah-wah guitar solo, before frontman Ed Kowalczyk howls one last chorus, “Lift me up/In the palm of your hand/Lying

‘The Voice’ Top 24 preview: What songs will the artists perform live on Monday April 29?
Monday’s two-hour episode of “The Voice” will be jam-packed as two dozen artists take to the stage to sing for America’s votes. Unlike previous seasons of the hit show, this 16th edition does not have the coaches coming into this round with the same-sized teams. Rather, following the live cross battles, Blake Shelton boasts a roster of eight artists while his pal Adam Levine has only four. Both reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson and rookie coach John Legend have the usual six artists apiece on their teams.

We’ve done some digging on iTunes and have discovered spoilers of the songs that the Top 24 will perform live on April 29. Take a look below at the titles of these tunes as well as the names of the artists that made them famous. Then cast your vote for the coach that you think has the strongest team at this stage of the season 16 competition.

After an unprecedented sweep by all 4 acting Oscar champs, only Mahershala Ali can be perfect this year

After an unprecedented sweep by all 4 acting Oscar champs, only Mahershala Ali can be perfect this year
Last year, the same four people won every televised acting precursor en route to Oscar gold for the first time, which made for a very yawn-worthy two-month trot, regardless of how deserving anyone might’ve been. Luckily, we won’t have that relentless rubber-stamping this year, as there’s only one person who can earn a perfect sweep: Mahershala Ali.

The “Green Book” star has taken home Best Supporting Actor honors at the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Awards and is the runaway favorite to win his second Oscar. Ali wasn’t even this dominant during his first Oscar rodeo two years ago for “Moonlight,” losing the Globe to Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Nocturnal Animals”) — who wasn’t Oscar-nominated — and the BAFTA to Dev Patel (“Lion”), and only scoring the Critics’ Choice and SAG Awards.

The other three acting frontrunners this year have suffered a loss or snub somewhere.

BAFTA Awards: 5 times British nominees won over the eventual Oscar winners

BAFTA Awards: 5 times British nominees won over the eventual Oscar winners
Since the BAFTA Awards moved ahead of the Oscars in 2000, it has become a fairly reliable barometer as who will win in the four acting races at the Academy Awards. Last year’s quartet of Oscar winners — leads Frances McDormand and Gary Oldman (“Darkest Hour”) as well as supporting players Allison Janney and Sam Rockwell (“Three Billboards”) — all got a chance to practice their acceptance speeches at the BAFTAs first.

But there have been five times when the British academy has gone with home-grown talent over the eventual Oscar winners. That could bode well for “The Favourite” leading lady Olivia Colman this year. And there have been eight other instances when British nominees have won without facing the eventual Academy Awards champs.

The Flash Has Cast One Of Sherloque Wells’ Ex-Wives

So far, this season of The Flash has seen Sherloque Wells prove to be a most valuable ally in the ongoing war with Cicada. Not only has his impressive intellect helped the team at Star Labs in a variety of situations, but he’s also getting to the bottom of whatever’s been going on with Nora West-Allen and Eobard Thawne.

While the latest Harrison Wells’ doppelganger we’ve met has thus far lived up to being the best detective in the multiverse, there’s one area in which he hasn’t had much luck – and that’s love. In fact, the guy has confessed to having been married seven times, two of which were to the same woman.

Well, those who’ve wanted to meet those lucky (?) ladies will soon get their chance when Kimberly Williams-Paisley debuts as Renee Adler during next week’s episode, “Goldfaced.” What’s also

It won’t be perfect this year, but how often have the SAG Awards and Oscar winners matched?

It won’t be perfect this year, but how often have the SAG Awards and Oscar winners matched?
After the same four people became the first quartet to run the table with all the major acting awards last year en route to Oscar gold, it’s refreshing to know that we definitely won’t get that sheep mentality rubber-stamping this year.

The Golden Globe Best Actor champs Christian Bale (“Vice”) and Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) have already split the Critics’ Choice (Bale) and Screen Actors Guild Awards (Malek). Globe and Critics’ Choice supporting actress winner Regina King (“If Beale Street Could Talk”) was snubbed at SAG and BAFTA. And SAG gave its supporting actress statuette to an Oscar snubbee, Emily Blunt (“A Quiet Place”), for the second time in four years, guaranteeing that the four SAG Awards winners — Glenn Close (“The Wife”) and Mahershala Ali (“Green Book”) being the others — won’t all go on to win the corresponding Oscar.

The SAG Awards has a good track record with the academy.

Emily Blunt is the 2nd performer to get double-snubbed by the Oscars after double SAG Awards nominations

Emily Blunt is the 2nd performer to get double-snubbed by the Oscars after double SAG Awards nominations
Poor Emily Blunt. After a stellar 2018 and earning Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations for “Mary Poppins Returns” and “A Quiet Place,” she failed to get an Oscar nomination Tuesday for either, becoming just the second double SAG nominee to go 0-2 with the academy.

Blunt follows in the dubious footsteps of Helen Mirren, who didn’t convert her SAG Awards bids for her 2015 films “Woman in Gold” and “Trumbo” into Oscar nominations. But at least Mirren was already a four-time Oscar nominee and a one-time winner; Blunt is still waiting for her maiden bid.

See Oscar nominations: Full list of nominees

The stats were on Blunt’s side. This was the 10th time a performer received two individual SAG Awards nominations. Besides Mirren, the other eight are:

1. Julianne Moore (1999): “The End of the Affair,” “Magnolia

2. Judi Dench (2001): “Iris,” “The Shipping News

3. Julianne Moore (2002): “Far From Heaven,” “The Hours

2019 Oscars: Will Amy Adams finally win on nomination #6, just like Kate Winslet?

2019 Oscars: Will Amy Adams finally win on nomination #6, just like Kate Winslet?
A five-time Oscar bridesmaid is on the brink of a sixth nomination, and possibly her first win. She’s already scored double nominations at the Golden Globe and SAG Awards. It’s been thirteen years since she first caught the academy’s attention, breaking into the Supporting Actress lineup. She’s since proven herself to be a versatile talent and a box-office draw, headlining acclaimed indies and big blockbusters alike.

Is this Amy Adams this year? Or Kate Winslet exactly 10 years ago? The similarities between the two are shocking.

Let’s go back in time and review Winslet when she was still winless. After a heavenly debut in Peter Jackson’s “Heavenly Creatures” in 1994, she starred as Emma Thompson‘s younger sister in 1995’s “Sense and Sensibility.” The academy had the good sense to nominate the newcomer, though she wasn’t mighty enough to overcome Mira Sorvino in “Mighty Aphrodite.

Judi Dench movies: 12 greatest films, ranked worst to best, include ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ ‘Philomena,’ ‘Notes on a Scandal’
In this fall’s delightful documentary, “Tea With the Dames,” Dame Judi Dench, who celebrates her 84th birthday on December 9, 2018, recalls being asked to play Cleopatra in London’s National Theatre production of Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra.” Her response: “Are you sure you want a menopausal dwarf to play this part?”

Well, this menopausal dwarf has done pretty well for herself in an acting career that has lasted over half a century. For her film acting alone, Dench has been nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for her supporting performance in 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love.” She also earned nine Golden Globe noms for her film work (including a win for 1997’s “Mrs. Brown”) and three for her TV work, including a win for 2000’s “The Last of the Blonde Bombshells.” She has also received 13 nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award, winning twice (for “Shakespeare in Love” and

The Flash Season 5 Episode 8 Review: What's Past is Prologue

  • TVfanatic
The long-anticipated 100th Episode of The Flash has finally arrived! And it was … not what I expected.

The Flash Season 5 Episode 8 paid tribute to all the seasons of Flash Past, and while the performances were extraordinary and certain sentiments were genuinely touching, the story itself? Well, it seemed to fall a little short.

Don’t get me wrong: I’m well aware it wasn’t about the epic storyline structure. It was bound to be filled with flashbacks and pieces of reference nostalgia meant to make our hearts sing with the remembrance of former Flash love.

In that regard, it did quite well. As loyal viewers we got to stroll (or speed) down memory lane with Barry, revisiting all his most significant moments while facing off against various arch-nemeses over the past five years.

We also got to do that with the added fresh perspective of Nora, who was seeing
