Hi! My name is Huey and I am a 3 year old male American Shelter Dog. I am a happy and playful boy who would love to go on walks to the park with you and also get my zoomies out in a big yard :) I can be a little mouthy with my toys, but that is just because I am so excited to play! They call me Jumpin' Jack! My finder says I am friendly and playful with other dogs and cats - but I do not like to share my food or toys with other animals, so I would probably do best as an only pet. That doesn't mean I can't have doggie friends, just that there should no food or toys around when we are together. I have nice leash manners most of the time... but can be a little impulsive when something piques my interest. I try to make the best of every situation and I love to play! If you are looking for a fun, playful dog to add some joy to your life and help make you laugh, then look no further. I will bring endless fun and keep you entertained with my goofy antics.  Luxor, Athena, and Nymeria  all came from the same backyard breeder and did not get enough socialization/exposure to the "real world." All three are very lovely dogs, but will do best in a loving and patient  home where they can go at their own pace. Seeking some Behavior training would help the new adopter understand the dogs better. These dogs are all willing to try, maybe you can too?

Hello, I'm Luxor. I've grown in confidence quite a bit at the shelter - I used to be very nervous about humans coming around me, but in time I've realized people are my friends! Not a lot is known about my history, but I may have had a bad experience with leashes in the past. I don't like them very much at all, and I definitely will need work learning that going out on a leash is a good thing. I'm a sweet dog, I just have some rough edges and need someone kind, patient, and ready to reward often with praise and treats to train me into my full potential. Could that be you?? I'm really surprised that Bolt hasn't been scooped up yet by some lucky adopter!

Depending on the general kennel daily atmosphere, he is usually calm and affectionate and allows petting and sometimes just wants to say hi and lay by their feet. He promises to be a fabulous companion dog.

Ophelia is a gentle loving dignified dog who is also easy to walk on a leash. She prefers to be the only pet.

but she does walk calmly past the other dogs (she may just have been overwhelmed by too much/too soon when introduced to dogs/cats in her recent home)

They call me Ophelia, I am a three year old Pit Bull mix looking for a new home. I am a sensitive girl that finds the shelter a stressful place. I love people so much that I want their undivided attention so I need to be an only pet. I am not the type to enjoy the dog park either. Neighborhood walks and playing in a fenced area are more my cup of tea. My previous adopters said I am house trained and went to the door when I need to go out. I love treats so much I kind of forget and take your whole hand in my mouth so please drop treats on the ground while we're working together on this. (note - BUT this could be because of stress in a new home!) When no one was home, I was in a left in a room and just went to sleep under a dresser like the good girl I am! If you are looking for a dog that will be with you through thick and thin, come and meet me and see if we're a match.

Dogs like me are really sweet with people when we feel at home, especially when we know them well. In new places, we tend to need a little time to figure out the coast is clear. Once I feel at home, I will be your bosom buddy. My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. I think working with a trainer would be a fun way for us to bond and learn together. I am eager to learn and can't wait to show you how smart I am!
