Hi! My name is Huey and I am a 3 year old male American Shelter Dog. I am a happy and playful boy who would love to go on walks to the park with you and also get my zoomies out in a big yard :) I can be a little mouthy with my toys, but that is just because I am so excited to play! I'm a good walker and know basic commands like sit and down. I can be a little sensitive to new people and places, but just need some time to warm up. Once I do I will be the most loving boy. I am looking for a family who does not take life too seriously and who will be positive and patient with me. I can't wait to meet you!

I'm a Gentle, lovable petite older lady, please give me the home I deserve!

Rosie here....in the almost 5 yrs since I was first adopted, I became wiser, leaner, more white on my grey face. I'm a lovely little dog.  Please visit me!

Hi my name is Rosie, a sweet but shy Pit Bull lady with the BEST ears. I am about 9 years old and am looking for a new family to call my own. I am a little fearful in the shelter, but am learning quickly that the volunteers and staff that are taking care of me are super fun! When I get comfortable with you, I love giving kisses, and will get the zoomies when we play with toys! I am looking for a family that will use positive training methods with me and help me build confidence. I need to go to an adult only home. Ask to meet me today!

My name is Aja, I am a three year old Pit Bull looking for a new home. Dogs like me are really sweet with people when we feel at home, especially when we know them well. In new places, we tend to need a little time to figure out the coast is clear. Once I feel at home, I will be your best buddy. My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. I think working with a trainer would be a fun way for us to bond and learn together. I am eager to learn and can't wait to show you how smart I am!

thanks Denise for the great pic!

"JUMPIN' JACK" IN FOSTER - Overlooked GEM - Best PUP 11 month old MIX, knows sit, down

MCAS Volunteer and Jumpin' Jack:

"This sweet little pup-cup waits quietly and patiently in his kennel for someone to show him some love - He breaks into booty wiggles the second he catches you looking his way 💓 Jumpin' Jack loves belly rubs and is fairly mellow for a just an 11 month old puppy. He may not do well sharing his food or toys with other dogs, but he really likes interacting with them through the play yard fence. He's just precious!"

This animal is in foster care! Apply to adopt them online!

They call me Jumpin' Jack! My finder says I am friendly and playful with other dogs and cats - but I do not like to share my food or toys with other animals, so I would probably do best as an only pet. That doesn't mean I can't have doggie friends, just that there should no food or toys around when we are together. I have nice leash manners most of the time... but can be a little impulsive when something piques my interest. I try to make the best of every situation and I love to play! If you are looking for a fun, playful dog to add some joy to your life and help make you laugh, then look no further. I will bring endless fun and keep you entertained with my goofy antics. If you can keep up with me then I promise that we will have a life full of enjoyment with lots of great stories!

he's a very silly boy, but he looks so serious!

this pic reminds me of a little frog

bring me some sunglasses please!

"LUXOR" handsome lovable husky/shepherd mix? lived with multiple dogs

Luxor, Athena, and Nymeria  all came from the same backyard breeder and did not get enough socialization/exposure to the "real world." All three are very lovely dogs, but will do best in a loving and patient  home where they can go at their own pace. Seeking some Behavior training would help the new adopter understand the dogs better. These dogs are all willing to try, maybe you can too?

"LUXOR" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 288600, male American Husky mix, 3 yrs 68 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/288600

Hello, I'm Luxor. I've grown in confidence quite a bit at the shelter - I used to be very nervous about humans coming around me, but in time I've realized people are my friends! Not a lot is known about my history, but I may have had a bad experience with leashes in the past. I don't like them very much at all, and I definitely will need work learning that going out on a leash is a good thing. I'm a sweet dog, I just have some rough edges and need someone kind, patient, and ready to reward often with praise and treats to train me into my full potential. Could that be you?? Please come meet me!

thanks Elan for the pic

"BOLT" white Husky (shepherd?) mix - house-trained, easy to walk - good companion

I'm really surprised that Bolt hasn't been scooped up yet by some lucky adopter!

Depending on the general kennel daily atmosphere, he is usually calm and affectionate and allows petting and sometimes just wants to say hi and lay by their feet. He promises to be a fabulous companion dog.

"BOLT" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 286351,  female 2 yrs 60 lbs
I have never met an activity I did not like! If you love exercise and keeping active, then we will be fast friends. I will go for a run in the morning, a hike in the afternoon, play fetch in the evening, and unwind with some play at home before bed - and I would love nothing more than to have someone who can keep up with me. It is important that I have an outlet for my boundless energy, so let us get together and explore the outdoors!

"OPHELIA" house-trained, elegant, loving sensitive Pitmix

Ophelia is a gentle loving dignified dog who is also easy to walk on a leash. She prefers to be the only pet.

but she does walk calmly past the other dogs (she may just have been overwhelmed by too much/too soon when introduced to dogs/cats in her recent home)

"OPHELIA" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 286746, female  3 yrs 76 lbs

no cats, no dogs

They call me Ophelia, I am a three year old Pit Bull mix looking for a new home. I am a sensitive girl that finds the shelter a stressful place. I love people so much that I want their undivided attention so I need to be an only pet. I am not the type to enjoy the dog park either. Neighborhood walks and playing in a fenced area are more my cup of tea. My previous adopters said I am house trained and went to the door when I need to go out. I love treats so much I kind of forget and take your whole hand in my mouth so please drop treats on the ground while we're working together on this. (note - BUT this could be because of stress in a new home!) When no one was home, I was in a left in a room and just went to sleep under a dresser like the good girl I am! If you are looking for a dog that will be with you through thick and thin, come and meet me and see if we're a match.

"ATHENA" lived with dogs, will blossom in good calm home

Athena came from a back-yard breeder home with multiple dogs. She deserves better! She's a sweetheart (who needs a calm place outside of the shelter) who will blossom in a home where she is allowed to go at her own pace and helps her become more confident.

Dogs like me are really sweet with people when we feel at home, especially when we know them well. In new places, we tend to need a little time to figure out the coast is clear. Once I feel at home, I will be your bosom buddy. My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. I think working with a trainer would be a fun way for us to bond and learn together. I am eager to learn and can't wait to show you how smart I am! I came from a home with other dogs, so if you have a social dog at home we may get along, after proper introductions of course!

Hi! My name is Nymeria and I am a 2 year old female American Shelter dog. I am as sweet as can be, and I love giving kisses. Something unique about me is that for the first 2 years of my life, I was never trained to walk on a leash. I have made some progress while here at the shelter, but I will definitely need patience and training from my new owner. In new places, I tend to need a little time to figure out the coast is clear, but once I feel at home, I will be your best buddy! I'm not sure how I feel about toys and playing just yet, because I'm still learning about what it means to be a dog. I know that you will be just as excited about showing me all the fun things in life as I am! My ideal family will be patient and use positive training methods or even a professional trainer to help me become my best self. I am so eager to learn and have fun with you! Please ask to meet me:)

Gulliver is 2 year old Male American Pit Bull. He has travelled around, and is ready to settle down with a new adopter. Gulliver came to MCAS with an injured paw, and staff remarked that he was friendly and easy to handle. MCAS recommends gradual introductions to new people and pets in the home. This boy is a goofy-goober who likes to play, and will need outlets for his energy and curiosity.
