With your Multnomah County Library card, you can borrow books, e-books, audiobooks, movies, music and more from any library location and online. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, just ask!

Loans

Library items usually check out for three weeks. If no one else is waiting for them, they’ll be automatically renewed for another three weeks.

  • 30 DVDs
  • 2 Lucky Day items (popular books without the wait)
  • A laptop computer to use in the library

E-books and more

  • OverDrive, or the Libby app: 50 e-books and audiobooks
  • Hoopla streaming music, movies, TV and comics: 
    • 10 items each month 
    • Music is available for 7 days
    • Video is available for 3 days
  • Kanopy streaming movies: 
    • 10 items each month. 
    • Video is available for 3 days

Because there are many types of media and media players, and library items are heavily used, the library cannot be responsible for any damage to personal equipment.

Returns

Return items to any Multnomah County Library location

  • All libraries have book drops and materials can be returned 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • Late items are not charged fines.
  • Please talk to a library staff member if an item you’re returning was damaged accidentally.
  • Contact us if you are not able to return your items. We can help!

Interlibrary Loan

If the item you are looking for is not owned by Multnomah County Library, it may be possible to get it from another library system through Interlibrary Loan.
