The Price listed on this product is $230.00 higher than what I paid ($819.00), I don't know when the price went up, but I don't know if I would pay the new price for the package.
I am very new to a camera that is more than a point and click. My first problem with this camera was trying to understand the video that came with it. Being uneducated in a camera's settings,(me=point and click) the video assumes that I know the terminology. I did watch the whole video and then proceeded to the internet and got most of my questions answered.
I purchased this package because of all the extras and they all 'seem' useful. I have used the UV filter to protect my 18-55mm lens. I feel I need to purchase another 'lighter UV filter for the tele-photo lens that is included in the package. The other 'colored' filters are too dark to be used as lens protectors/scratch guards. (or am I wrong in assuming that they are too dark?) The Vivitar wide angle lens and 2.2X telephoto lens are still in the box as I haven't figured out the Canon lenses yet and will wait to experiment with the Vivitar's once I have confidence in the usage of the Canon 18-55mm and 75-300mm telephoto lenses.
The camera case seems adequate for my needs as it holds all of the items included in this sales package. Cords, cables, cleaning kit, battery charger/extra battery, camera strap and memory card are all useful and adequate. The tripod is very cheap and unusable. (I had a tripod, purchased at a pawn shop, that is also cheap, but much sturdier. The price was great, as I checked at my local Military Exchange and they could not come close to matching all of the items included in the package for the price. They were over $150 away and could not provide some of the items included in this package.
Although I am an amateur, my overall rating of this camera is 4 stars because of the pictures that I have taken. (I was able to capture the Blue Angels flying over my house, practicing for a weekend air show) I still have trouble with autofocus and switching to manual focus and settings, but I feel I will get better as time passes. It is not the camera's fault that the owner is slow to learn. I have thought about local Community College seminars since Canon does not have any scheduled seminars in my area in the near future.
My camera's use is strictly personal - vacations, holiday, grandchildren etc..

I'm a newbie photography enthusiast, so my review will only help out those in my position, but let me say-- what an amazing bundle. There's plenty to play around with in here, straight out of the box. I'm very satisfied with this bundle and think it was definitely worth the money.
