British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis recently tickled many funny bones on Twitter after a hilarious spelling mistake while referring to the classic 1975 Bollywood film, Sholay. He inadvertently wrote ‘Chole’, a popular Indian dish, while referring to the blockbuster starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, and Jaya Bachchan.
Ellis caught the film on Saturday night and he also relished a plate of ‘kulche chole’. He posted a video on Twitter that showed him watching Sholay on TV and on the table was a plate of ‘kulche chole’. His dog was also seated on the sofa as he enjoyed the film. “Sholay + Chole = Thik Hai,” he captioned the post in Hindi.

“It will take you 2 days to watch the complete movie,” commented a user. Ellis replied to the user and wrote, “And 2 weeks to get over it.”
In another tweet, Ellis mentioned the things he liked in the film. “Favourite bits – Landscape (Eastern – Western) – Lines, although we don’t drink a lot of blood, you dog, in diplomacy – Opening song & its echo at the end – Balance of characters – Gabbar; every classic needs a great badmash – the climax of the 1st half,” he wrote.

“Ahh.. So finally you saw arguably the most talked about Hindi movie in India till date – Sholay,” commented a user. “And with that Alex, now you are truly integrated in India,” said another.
A few days ago, Ellis tweeted about some highly recommended Indian movies that he plans to watch and wrote, “Thanks for the suggestions. So I’ll watch 1. Chole 2. Chupke Chupke 3. I hate violence but Gangs Wasseypur so I can say something friendly to the cricket opposition I have seen Lagaan () – that’s why I tell my colleagues every day “Dugna lagaan dena padega”.”
