Given the risk of continued violence in Bujumbura, U.S. Embassy personnel in Burundi have been directed to limit non-essential movement in Bujumbura and are subject to a 9:00 pm curfew until further notice. Private U.S. citizens are advised to take similar precautions.
U.S. citizens who are planning to travel to Burundi or are currently staying in Burundi should review the most recent Burundi Travel Warning issued on November 3, as well as their personal security situation and avoid non-essential travel to and within Burundi.
