KRRT-TV goes on the air KRRT-TV (UHF Channel 35) fi nally debuted Wednesday, but the station continued to be plagued by delays up to its sign-on at 5:39 p.m. Station officials said adjustments atop KRRT’s tower near Lake Me dina continued for almost three hours past the previously an nounced 3 p.m. sign-on time. The station was operating at less than half its five-million-watt ca- parity when it debuted, General Manager Rick Lowe said. He ex pected the transmitter to be at full power today. The initial program on the Kerr- ville-based independent TV station was “Sanford & Son,” a syndicated comedy series. KRRT was supposed to have been on the air on Tuesday, but weather hampered construction on its 1,500-foot tower.
