MediaWiki allows all logged-in users to have a user page. Anonymous users can also have user pages, but they will share these with other users of the same IP. This can facilitate communication among participants in the project. This Is Where You Get Important Messages, Bans and this is where you can Appeal Bans. If your username is Example:
- Your user page is the page at User:Example.
- Your user talk page is the page at User talk:Example.
- Your user subpages, are pages of the form User:Example/subpage or User talk:Example/subpage.
- Your user space is the collection of all the above.
If you have a user page here at Meta, it will be your default global user page and will be displayed on any Wikimedia project where you do not have a local user page.
User pages are linked to from page histories, recent changes, the list of users and from any page where you sign your name.
Details about yourself generally shouldn't go in the main namespace, which is reserved for content related to the project, such as encyclopedic information on Wikipedia, or dictionary definitions on Wiktionary.
