Jessie May, the Bristol-based children’s Hospice at Home service, continues to be the World Snooker Tour’s official charity partner since its first announcement in 2016.

Jessie May Nurses provide vital respite and palliative care for terminally ill children, and their families across the South West. Over the next year it will cost over £1.2m for the charity to provide this care.

The charity now cares for 185 families*, including 140 terminally ill children and a further 45 bereaved families. Jessie May Nurses provide not only respite care, but also end of life care, emotional support and bereavement support directly into the family home, and all completely free of charge.

WST will continue to raise funds for the charity over the course of the 2019/20 season, as they have done for the past three seasons. Money will be raised via player fines arising from disciplinary action, as well as the many generous donations that we have previously seen from our tournament sponsors. Details of further initiatives will be made available in due course.

Barry Hearn, WST Chairman, said: “We are delighted to be able to continue raising money for Jessie May during the new season and to be able to help support them in their work to provide children with life-limiting conditions the best possible care.
