Section for Coordination of UN Security Council Affairs
The Section for Coordination of UN Security Council Affairs is responsible for coordinating Norwegian policy on all issues on the UN Security Council’s agenda. The section’s main tasks include: ensure and provide a holistic approach to all UNSC issues; coordinate instructions for the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York; ensure smooth and steady information flow; provide input to external communication on UNSC issues; and build and develop expertise on the working methods and dynamics of the SC.

Unit for Budget and Coordination
The budget and coordination unit is responsible for budgeting and coordinates cross-sectional processes in the department for Multilateral Cooperation. The unit is also responsible for the work with Mopan (Multilateral Organizations Performance Assessment Network) and follows up mandatory contributions to UN organizations. The unit has a staff function for department management.
