Loose Women viewers were left angered by a tense debate about the Nicola Bulley investigation.
On Thursday’s edition of the ITV show (16 February), the panellists discussed the police’s search for the missing mother, and whether they were right to share details about “significant issues” Ms Bulley had in her personal life.
Kéllé Bryan supported people’s questioning of the police’s handling of the case, stating: “I guess my personal issue is the trust for the police. I think people have every right to ask them questions.”
She said that she doesn’t encourage “keyboard warriors” to wade in, but “those who have an informed place, who have done their reading and done their research from what is available”.
However, Jane Moore had an issue with her co-star’s point, and, interrupting her, replied: “But from what’s available, that is not necessarily that is all that is available.

Marc Maron has reflected on his disastrous audition for Avatar 2.
Last year, James Cameron released the much-delayed sequel, tilted Avatar: The Way of Water, to his 2009 blockbuster.
Sam Worthington returns in the role of Jake Sully who leads his family through a difficult war against the humans who are trying to rob Pandora of its resources.
One of the scientists in charge of the operation is played by Jemaine Clement, best known for Flight of the Conchords.
During a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Maron, 59, revealed that he also went up for the role.
“That was ridiculous. Why the f*** would I want that job?” Maron said. “[James Cameron] is not a bad guy, I don’t think. I don’t know.
“You got out there. You go to this office and he’s like, ‘I want you to read…’ I don’t even know what it was,

Between The Last of Us and the upcoming season of The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal will be ruling the tv landscape for some time to come. But this isn't his first time in a popular series. In 2013, Pascal appeared in the hit show Game of Thrones, though, unlike his more recent roles, he wasn't exactly a lead. Pascal plays Oberyn Martell, the charismatic prince of Dorne, but unfortunately, the character didn't last long. The series was famed for its willingness to kill characters, so it can be hard to remember everyone who died quickly.
The premiere of HBO's The Last of Us has officially passed House of the Dragon's debut in streaming figures. Based on the critically acclaimed 2013 video game of the same name, The Last of Us premiered on January 15 and quickly became HBO's latest buzzy show. Prior to the post-apocalyptic zombie series, HBO released the equally popular House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones, in August 2022. To date, House of the Dragon had HBO's biggest series debut, with 10 million viewers internationally tuning in to watch the premiere episode.
In the newest numbers from Nielsen, it has been confirmed that The Last of Us episode 1 was a bigger hit than House of the Dragon's, at least when it comes to streaming.

The upcoming “I Am Legend” sequel will be based on the alternate ending of the first film, in which Will Smith’s character lives, producer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman told Deadline this week.
In the theatrical version released in 2007, Dr. Robert Neville (Smith) sacrifices himself, but ensures the survival of the human race against the tide of bloodthirsty mutants. The alternative coda, in which Neville lives, was filmed and released on a special 2008 DVD.
Both Smith and Michael B. Jordan’s casting was announced last year, but how Smith’s character could return was left up in the air until now.

The Best Actor Oscar winner is set to lead the sequel to the beloved 2007 thriller, with the follow-up based 20 to 30 years after the events of the first film. Screenwriter and producer Akiva Goldsman said that the video game and HBO series “The Last of Us” directly inspired “I Am Legend 2.”

Nick Offerman has always played characters rooted in a certain seriousness — but how that seriousness manifests is usually in a world of comedy surrounding him. His stoic roles have a tendency of landing as quite comedic due to the surroundings of the character. Offerman’s characters typically starkly contrast and amplify the ridiculous comedic situations around him, a deadpan guy in a goofball world. The most classic example is the one and only Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation. Recently, Offerman had a memorable turn in Episode 3 of The Last of Us, the hit new apocalyptic drama series currently airing weekly on HBO.

HBO’s “The Last of Us” is one of the biggest shows of 2023 so far, so big that Sony Pictures Entertainment film chairman Tom Rothman is wishing the studio had gone ahead and turned the video game into a feature film. “The Last of Us” is based on the Sony Playstation game of the same name.
“Yes,” Rothman answered when asked by Business Insider if he wishes “The Last of Us” was a Sony movie. “But I’m very happy for them and I think it’s better suited episodically. I’m jealous in the best way.”
“The Last of Us,” starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, centers on survivors of a pandemic in a world where brain-eating fungus has decimated the human population. The show has been a ratings powerhouse for HBO, garnering over 7 million viewers in one night as of its fourth episode airing.

The Last Of Us officially hit the Nielsen streaming charts for the week of January 16 to January 22 with 837M minutes viewed (No. 6). That outpaces viewership for another HBO hit, House of the Dragon, in the same interval.
Despite premiering the week prior, the series didn’t make the charts because Episode 1 had only been available for a few hours when Nielsen’s measurement window closed. However, Nielsen did note that in just those few hours, the Pedro Pascal-led series accumulated 223M viewing minutes. Nielsen streaming measurements only account for viewing on HBO Max, so these numbers don’t reflect any viewership on HBO’s linear channel.
With a full week of Episode 1 viewing plus a few hours with Episode 2 on the service, viewing skyrocketed. In the same two-episode-circumstances, House of the Dragon amassed 741M minutes viewed.
According to HBO, The Last of Us has been delivering series high audiences

Chloe Bailey’s announcement of her new single, in collaboration with Chris Brown, has left fans furious.
On Thursday (16 February), the singer shared a pre-save link to her song “How Does It Feel”.
The song’s cover art showed her and Brown standing forehead to forehead with his hands on her waist.
Within hours, the Grammy-nominated singer began trending on Twitter as her post racked up millions of views and thousands of angry comments condemning her for partnering with Brown.
In 2009, Brown became a figure of controversy after he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna, for which he was charged with felony assault. He later pled guilty to the felony and received five years of probation, community service hours and domestic violence counselling.
“We’re failing Black women in music if they feel like they have to collaborate with a known abuser in order to chart,” journalist Earnest Owens responded.

While Ginny & Georgia topped Nielsen’s U.S. ranking of streaming originals for a third straight week, fellow Netflix series That ’90s Show made its chart debut close behind in the No. 2 spot.
For the week of Jan. 16, Ginny & Georgia amassed 1.8 billion minutes viewed across 20 total episodes. That ’90s Show totaled 1.6 billion minutes viewed for its 10-episode season, followed by Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla (975 million minutes/16 episodes), Netflix’s stalwart Wednesday (711 million minutes/eight episodes) and Prime Video’s Jack Ryan (465 million minutes/24 episodes).

“The Last of Us” has debuted on Nielsen’s weekly streaming Top 10 rankings with 837 million minutes watched from Jan. 16-22, the first full week that Episode 1 was available on HBO Max. And as Nielsen’s viewing window ends on Sunday nights, which is when the show debuts, this number also includes viewership of Episode 2 in its first few hours of streaming.
This is the series’ first time making the chart, though Nielsen did previously report that Episode 1 was viewed for 233 million minutes during the Jan. 9-15 window, which only included the episode’s first few hours of availability. To contextualize that major accomplishment, 233 million is more than one-third of the viewership achieved by that week’s No. 10 title, which had been streaming for an entire week.
It’s important to note that “The Last of Us” isn’t a streaming original, unlike some of the titles at the top of the chart.

Bruce Willis’ family has given a “painful” update on the actor’s health after revealing last year he had been diagnosed with aphasia.
In March 2022, the Die Hard star’s family announced he would be “stepping away” from acting after he had been diagnosed with the condition, which was “impacting his cognitive abilities”.
Now nearly a year later, in a joint statement shared with the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, his family revealed Willis’s condition has progressed.
“We now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as Ftd),” they wrote.
“Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
Calling it a “cruel disease”, they went on to say that “Ftd is the most common form of dementia, and because getting the diagnosis can take years, Ftd is likely much more

Liam Neeson worried seeing Tom Hanks would take him out of Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-nominated movie Elvis.
The director’s musical biopic follows the rock icon’s (Austin Butler) rise to superstardom and his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks).
“I thought it was fantastic,” Neeson told IndieWire in a new interview. “Extraordinary. Baz Luhrmann.”
“It was superb, really superb,” he continued. “I got a little bit worried when I saw Tom Hanks. I thought, ‘Oh no, oh please, this is taking me out of the film.’
“But for a very short time, a very short time. But he was wonderful. It was a wonderful performance. It really grew on me, that one.”
The film was warmly received by critics after its 24 June release last year. The Independent’s Clarisse Loughrey praised it for making “the King cool again”.

Nick Offerman was really channeling Bill by working on-set of The Last of Us to fix any broken props with Bill's tools. In The Last of Us episode 3, Offerman portrayed the post-apocalyptic survivor Bill as he works to create his own miniature civilization in the wake of the deadly Cordyceps fungal infection spreading to the entire world. After meeting fellow survivor Frank (Murray Bartlett), Bill finds love and lives to an old and comfortable age.
Bill and Frank have a beautiful love story in The Last of Us episode 3, as the show twists the concept of the bitter and grizzly survivor by introducing a kind and loving husband for him. Even as Offerman played Bill, he was also working to fix the issues on set. In an interview with Empire Magazine, episode 3 director Peter Hoar described how Offerman was using Bill's tools everywhere. Check out his quote below via Slash Film:

“The Last of Us” should be very scared right now, because the world’s best video game is getting the adaptation it deserves. “Tetris,” a biographical film about the development behind one of the most iconic video games ever, will premiere on Apple TV+ March 31, the company announced Thursday. The news was accompanied by a trailer for the film, showing star Taron Egerton as Tetris Company co-founder Henk Rogers.

Nobody wears masks in The Last of Us show, which is a big change from the original video game. In the Last of Us video game, characters periodically have to wear gas masks to avoid breathing in spores. Spores are a reproductive unit found in many plants, including fungi, that can be spread through the air like pollen to create more of a species. In the game, spores are like a cloud of bacteria that indicate when the infected might be near. Players aren't in control of the gas masks. Instead, characters just automatically put them on.

The Last of Us makers are being called “pretetnious” after it was revealed they “banned” a certain word from being spoken on set.
Last month, the HBO videogame adaptation, from Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, was released to acclaim, with particular praise being heaped upon lead stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by an outbreak that sees heat=adsapted fungus cordyceps reduce humans to an infected state.
Many viewers unfamiliar with the games might assume that the infected are, in fact, zombies – but this is actually a point of contention among fans who get frustrated when people refer to them as such.
It turns out the word “zombie” was actually banned from being spoken on set. Cinematographer Even Bolten, who worked on four episodes of the season, made the revelation in a new interview.

I Am Legend 2 starring Michael B. Jordan and Will Smith will be set decades after the original film. A follow-up to the 2007 post-apocalyptic film, I Am Legend 2 was announced last year with Smith returning as Dr. Robert Neville and Jordan being added to the cast. However, after Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, many of his projects were either put on hold or scrapped entirely.
Now, during a recent interview with Deadline discussing his new first-look deal with Warner Bros., Akiva Goldsman shared a positive update on the status of I Am Legend 2. The writer/producer says they are currently fast-tracking two projects, I Am Legend 2 with Smith and Jordan, as well as a sequel to Constantine with Keanu Reeves. Goldsman also revealed integral plot details, including that the film will be set decades after the first movie and is, in part, inspired by The Last of Us.

Emma Corrin has opened up about the unexpected “hate” they received after coming out as nonbinary.
The Crown star, who uses they/them pronouns, announced in July 2021 that they were changing their pronouns and starting to use a chest binder.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Corrin admitted they never had a “big discussion” with their team prior to making the announcement on Instagram.
“Naively, maybe, it took me aback how much hate I got for that. It was quite a reality check,” Corrin said.
“But for a lot of people, it did help. Especially around conversation of gender and stuff, it does help a lot of people to see someone living as a nonbinary person in the world.
“I know how much other people’s accounts helped me, that’s my motivation for keeping my social media at the moment.”

Gary Lucy has said he is “no longer” with Laura Anderson hours after she announced her pregnancy.
The former Hollyoaks and EastEnders star was in a relationship with the ex-Love Island contestant, who revealed the baby news to her Instagram followers on Thursday (16 February).
“Our hearts are full, Baby Lucy due Summer 23,” Anderson wrote.
Hours later, it was reported that Anderson and Lucy were no longer together, and the actor confirmed: “I love Laura but we are no longer together.”
He told The Sun: “My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child.
“I look forward to the arrival of the new baby.”
While Lucy didn’t give a reasoning for the split, the outlet reports that the actor is “heartbroken”.
It’s also been claimed that Anderson didn’t agree with where Lucy wanted to raise the baby.
The Independent has contacted both Anderson and Lucy for comment.

Capital FM DJ Ant Payne’s ‘disgusting’ Turkey earthquake ‘joke’ receives nearly 600 Ofcom complaints
A radio DJ’s “disgusting” joke about the fatal Turkey earthquakes has generated hundreds of complaints.
Ant Payne made the comment during his Capital FM Drivetime show on Monday (13 February).
After two powerful earthquakes, and their aftershocks, reduced Turkish towns and cities to rubble, leaving more than 41,000 people dead, Payne said: “Now is actually the best time to start looking at some cheap flights away to Turkey.”
He continued in a chipper tone: “Get your teeth done while you are over there. Come back looking 19 years old. You’ll be on Love Island next year if you are doing that.”
Payne apologised for his comments on Tuesday (14 February), telling his Twitter followers: “Hi guys, I want to address the comment I made last night on the show. It was insensitive and ill timed.
“I would never wish to offend anyone from my shows. My sincere and wholehearted apologies.”

Netflix users have been left baffled by a forthcoming removal from the service.
Recently, several titles labelled “Netflix Originals” have been taken down, leading to confusion among viewers.
Each month, Netflix quietly removes several of these films and TV shows, some of which are not widely streamed.
However, the removal of Lilyhammer and Hemlock Grove, two of Netflix’s first-ever Original projects, caused anger among subscribers.
Netflix was able to reverse Lilyhammer’s removal, much to the happiness of lead star Steven Van Zandt, but due to the expiration of a licencing deal with another of Hemlock Grove’s distributors, that series was taken down.
Now, users are concened by the realisation that Arrested Development will be removed.
While the removal of the sitcom’s first three seasons may be understandable, considering they aired on Fox, it’s the fact that season four and five will also be leaving that is angering many.

The Masked Singer US judges were left in tears after a Hollywood legend was unmasked in the show’s “greatest reveal ever”.
The US version of the reality TV show, in which famous figures compete anonymously in giant anthropomorphic costumes, returned for its ninth season on Wednesday (15 February).
During the season opener, Mustang, Gnome and Medusa all sung for the first time, with Gnome performing a rendition of “When You’re Smiling” by Billie Holiday.
In his Vt package, which featured clues about Gnome’s identity, he said that he had been “a mainstay in your lives over the course of my storied career”, adding: “My address book includes all the president’s men, from Barack to Biden.”
He said that he had worked with Madonna, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, while umbrellas and a statue with a photo of Tony Danza were also shown.

Rebel Wilson has claimed that her contract for the Pitch Perfect film franchise stipulated that she did not lose weight.
The actor, 42, talked about her weight loss efforts, which began in 2020 after the franchise had ended, on the latest episode of the American podcast Call Her Daddy.
“I did wait until Pitch Perfect seemed like it was over,” Wilson said.
“I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight because it was in the contracts for that movie. You can’t lose – I think it’s not more than 10 pounds or gain more than 10 pounds. You have to kind of stay at the weight. It’s in your contract.”
In the musical-comedy film series, Wilson played a student called “Fat Amy”, with the role making her a household name.
Wilson said that, despite the contract’s stipulation, she was keen to “get healthier”. “I was stereotyped in playing that fat,

James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” swept the 21st annual Ves Awards Wednesday night in an unprecedented wave of dominance in every category, winning nine of its record-breaking 14 nominations, including the top photoreal feature, and the newest category, The Emerging Technology Award, for its innovative water toolset.
Although the prestigious visual effects honorary society has not been a reliable Oscar bellwether in recent years — picking the VFX winner only twice in the last six years — this now looks like a lock for the “Avatar” sequel.
Hosted by Patton Oswalt at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” (from Netflix) — the favorite to win the Best Animated Feature Oscar — won the top animation trophy and took home three awards; Amazon’s “Thirteen Lives” snagged the supporting prize, and Amazon Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” grabbed the episodic prize and also took home three awards.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” came out on top at the Visual Effects Society’s 2023 Ves Awards, held Wednesday evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The James Cameron epic set a Ves record this year with 14 nominations in nine different categories, and it set a record for wins by coming out on top in every category in which it was nominated. By contrast, the original 2009 “Avatar” received 10 nominations and won five awards. The previous record for wins by a film was set by “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” at the first Ves Awards in 2003, when it won eight awards. (The show had fewer awards then than it does now.)

James Cameron’s smash sequel came into the Visual Effects Society’s ceremony with a record 14 nominations. That shattered the old Ves Awards mark for films, set by — no big surprise here — the original Avatar, which amassed 11 noms in 2010. It also won the society’s marquee award that night ahead of a VFX win at the Oscars.

In a powerful monologue, Lynskey's Kathleen describes how her brother, Michael, acted as her emotional protector since the two were children. Emma Corrin’s coming-out in 2021 was not without its stumbles.
The actor, who uses they/them pronouns, was recently featured in Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue alongside other up-and-coming generational talents. In the interview, Corrin discussed how the process of coming out as non-binary in spring 2021 led to difficult revelations about being an openly queer person in Hollywood.
At the time, Corrin publicly changed their pronouns and spoke about wearing a chest binder, but they told Vanity Fair that they didn’t notify their team the announcement was coming.
“I might have [messaged them] over WhatsApp and just said, ‘I’m going to post this,'” Corrin said. “I don’t think there was any big discussion about it.”
However, Corrin said, “Naively, maybe, it took me aback how much hate I got for that. It was quite a reality check. But for a lot of people, it did help. Especially around conversation of gender and stuff,

Deadline reports that Barry Keoghan, who recently scored an Oscar nomination for The Banshees of Inisherin, is set to star in a new movie about the infamous outlaw Billy the Kid.
Bart Layton, who directed Barry Keoghan in American Animals, is set to helm the Billy the Kid movie, which Element Pictures and Raw will produce with Film4. “We’ve seen many versions of Billy the Kid on screen before,” Keoghan said in a statement to Deadline. “My interest was in trying to tell a version that breaks from the facade of that cool, calm, and collected gunslinger Billy the Kid that we’re all used to seeing. I wanted to humanize him in a way.” Element Pictures producer Ed Guiney added, “This isn’t just a passion project for Barry. This approach is something new, and it’s a version of the tale we hope the world will want to see.

If you've been paying attention to Nick Offerman at all, you know he's the kind of actor that brings a little piece of himself to every character he plays. In real life he's more progressive than, say, Ron Swanson from "Parks and Recreation" or Bill from "The Last of Us," but that stoic man's man Mr. Fix-It quality that both of those characters have does parallel Offerman in real life.
In fact, Ron Swanson's love of woodworking comes directly from Offerman's own hobby. The man has written books about woodworking and has notoriously used his talents to make wrap gifts for his co-stars, like the canoe paddles he crafted for his "Parks and Rec" cast members using the discarded materials from the actual sets. The point is, Offerman is a handy guy to have around and it should come as no surprise that he brought some of those skills to

The Last of Us Episode 5 gave us nerve-wracking action sequences but not without another heartbreaking story at its core. This time, we met Henry and Sam in Kansas City, for a brief amount of time Ellie did make a friend in Sam, someone who could look up to her. In the survival drama, co-creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have used children to symbolize a dystopian future. First, Joel’s daughter Sara was used to show how the world collapsed around him, in the same episode we see Joel putting a child’s body in the fire without remorse, a symbol of him hardening in this post-apocalyptic world.

Akiva Goldsman’s production company Weed Road recently had film and TV deals at MGM, but now that MGM executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have moved over to Warner Bros., intending to give the studio’s theatrical franchise output a boost, Weed Road has followed them. Deadline reports that Weed Road has signed a multi-year first look deal with Warner Bros… and since Goldsman has already done a lot of work for the studio over the decades, he sees this deal as a bit of a homecoming. With Weed Road now calling Warner Bros. home, the top priority for the companies are a pair of projects they were already working on together: sequels to the 2005 comic book adaptation Constantine (which Goldsman produced) and the 2007 Richard Matheson adaptation I Am Legend (which Goldsman produced and co-wrote).

Everybody has an opinion about “The Last of Us,” the survival horror series smashing viewership records for HBO week after week.
One misconception from not-so-eagle-eyed-and-eared viewers — or especially those who haven’t really experienced the show or game it’s based on — is that the show from Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin is about “zombies.” Not so far, as the enemies in the series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey aren’t undead, duh. They’re just infected and turned feral by a rapidly spreading fungus that’s destroyed the planet.
The alleged miscategorization dates back to even the 2013 and 2020 Naughty Dog video games, where a post-pandemic United States faces off against a sprawling, spreading population of Infected. That may be why, as series cinematographer Eben Bolter explained in a recent interview over at The Credits, cast and crew were seemingly banned, in his words, from using the word “zombie” at all.

The Last of Us has quickly become a tremendous success for HBO. Just a few episodes of the show’s first season have aired so far, but millions of viewers have already become engrossed in the post-apocalyptic thriller. Before The Last of Us was a TV series, though, it was a successful video game, and before that, it was just an idea that Neil Druckmann had while in college.

The hit film, which was released in theaters in 2007, starred Will Smith as one of the last human survivors of a plague that turned people into monstrous nocturnal creatures called Darkseekers. While the end of the film originally featured Smith's character sacrificing himself in order to save two more survivors and protect a potential cure for the virus, the alternate ending on the DVD release featured him realizing his experiments on the Darkseekers were causing them pain and forming a bond with the alpha, returning his mate and escaping to freedom.

It’s been over a decade since Will Smith‘s 2007 hit I Am Legend was released into theaters, and as we recently learned, Warner Bros. is actively developing a fresh new sequel.
Will Smith is returning for the next chapter as star and producer. He’ll be joined on screen by Black Panther‘s Michael B. Jordan, who will also produce the upcoming film.
Akiva Goldsman, who adapted Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel back in 2007, is also returning to write the follow-up. Speaking with Deadline this week, Goldsman explains how a sequel to I Am Legend starring Will Smith is even possible all these years later. As you may recall, the first movie ends with Smith’s character saving the cure but dying in the process.
In the alternate ending, however, Smith’s Dr. Robert Neville lives to fight another day.
