We believe that deepening partnerships with all actors, including global brands and retailers, is the only way to reach systematic change in global supply chains. International global brands and retailers sourcing products from factories contribute much to the success of the Better Work programme by helping to drive improvements among their suppliers. Likewise, Better Work can give global brands and retailers a one-stop shop for progress in their supply chain conditions with a focus on broad, lasting changes. We have two plans for working with global brands.
Global brands getting to know the programme may work with us as participants. Participants subscribe to a factory cycle of reports, covering one assessment (audit), two progress reports and one improvement plan, in one or more country programme.
Participants receive the following benefits:
- Access to factory reports on an online portal
- Factory access to advisory Services
- Factory access to training courses
- Electronic updates for global brands
- Webinars with Better Work Management
- E-learning platform
- Access to cutting-edge research on global supply chains
- Access to open sessions to Country and Regional Business Forums

Partnership provides wider and more strategic benefits than the Participant plan. Partners are involved with the programme at a deeper level and take part in its governance, defining its strategic direction and more. Partners sign a public-private partnership agreement with the ILO and IFC, which articulates the benefits and responsibilities of being a Partner
In addition to the benefits participants receive, Better Work Partners enjoy the following additional services:
- Prioritized factory subscription
- Unlimited access to factory reports
- Faster scheduling of assessments and/or turnaround of reports
- Opportunity to directly collaborate with Better Work on factory remediation and specialized training
- Acknowledgement of collaboration with Better Work on websites and other public domains
- Global Brand Dashboard
- Quarterly calls with Better Work Country Staff
- Rapid alerts in case of emergencies
- Privileged access to technical experts and management at the ILO and IFC
- Access to closed sessions at country and regional Business Forums
- Ability to participate in scalable pilot programmes on key issues in the sector
- Formal, legal relationship with the IFC and ILO
