  • Oppose Oppose You had your adminship removed on es.wikiversity for abusing multiple accounts [1] and for using the admin tools to hide the creation of the new account. --Rschen7754 04:31, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Enough cross-wiki countervandalism, my oppose is mostly per Rschen7754. Use of admin tools to cover up sockpuppetry and supporting your own RFA on the Spanish Wikiversity is incredibly worrying, even if it was over two years ago. If you're able to explain a little more about the circumstances surrounding that, I might consider striking my oppose, but for now, I can't support this request. • Neutral Neutral What Rschen7754 mentioned above is enough for a community ban. Such deceitful and uncollegial behavior is unacceptable for a community built on trust. I believe several editors will surely oppose this request on the basis of that deceptive act. I understand that it happened a long time ago and that's why I am reluctant to oppose this request at the moment. However, can you comment on this allegation and the motive behind your behavior then? We do understand that the global rollback rights would be very useful for you and would make your work a lot easier but can you tell us why we should trust you with this tool, considering your antecedent on es.wikiversity ? Global sysop for DAR7

Not ending before 21 July 2016 15:42 UTC

I would like to be the global administrator Meta Wikimedia because I think I'm familiar with all the policies and recommendations of all the Wikipedias of all languages spoken in the world, so that my articles on history and geography of Brazil and my state of Paraná be improved, for example, in the Wikipedias of English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Dutch languages, because there one of them have very few contributions and also why the administrator tool allows autorreview. Moreover, with this status I can: reverse vandalism, copyright violations, block and unblock users in all Wikipedias of all languages spokens around the world, among other tasks. DAR7 (talk) 15:42, 7 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Oppose Oppose The wikipedia language projects listed above are not applicable to global sysops; additionally global contributions do not show a high level of cross-wiki work on projects that would benefit from a global sysop. — xaosflux Talk 17:25, 7 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose This user isn't a sysop anywhere on Wikimedia, in fact, they don't have any additional user rights on any WMF project. The user also has edits only on nine different projects, and only on two of them do they have over 50 edits. Additionally, they don't really seem to understand what permissions this right actually grants. Omni Flames (talk) 05:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Oppose Oppose English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Dutch Wikipedias have opted out of global sysop, and even if they weren't, using global sysop would be against the global sysop policy because they all have well over 10 administrators. Also, you don't appear to have a need for these tools. Music1201 talk 07:25, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Global sysop for Apipo1907

Hello community. Now I introduce myself to the status of global syso after a few weeks of thinking even if I am a relatively new contributor.

Presentation.

I am Congolese by birth, living Brazzaville. I have a global account but my main account on the francophone Wikipedia where I autopatrol. I also made some changes on the Italian and English Wikipedia and Commons. I am sysop on Wikipedia Lingala which has a small community.

For tools?

After reading all the recommendations I had a need tools to fight against vandalism in Wikipedia small that I travel frequently. This will allow me to invest myself more in the projects of the WMF. I will then use them to remove unnecessary pages that I can find on my visit, revoke, remove copyright, old block vandals. From this, I promise to take care especially very small Wikipedia. In case I am elected, nothing would prevent me from taking care of small projects. Apipo1907 (talk) 18:08, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Global editinterface for Felipe Schenone

Hello, I request the global-interface-editor permission because I'm involved in a growing number of cross-wiki technical projects that require constant edits to the MediaWiki namespace. This leads me to repeatedly request help to admins such as XanaG (Spanish Wikipedia), Rillke (Commons) and more recently Jtneill (English Wikiversity) and Salvidrim (English Wikipedia). Some weeks ago I got a grant to enhance the ProveIt gadget which involves spreading it to the top ten Wikipedias, serving it from Commons and connecting it to Wikidata. This will lead me to request edits to admins in at least ten Wikipedias, plus Commons and Wikidata. Furthermore, I'm the main developer of the WikiWidgets project which requires constant edits to the MediaWiki namespace at Commons and the Wikipedias that adopt it (so far only the Spanish Wikipedia, but more are likely to come). Also, when I'm done with the grant, I want to develop the Wikidialectics project, which requires more edits to the MediaWiki namespace, and bring some order to the chaos that is the gadget landscape, which will require countless edits to the MediaWiki namespace in pretty much every Wikimedia wiki. Needless to say, getting the global-interface-editor permission will not lead me to bypass the need for community consensus before adding gadgets and stuff, but if consensus is achieved, it will make implementation and maintenance much easier.

I've been a constant contributor to several projects since 2008. My home project is the Spanish Wikipedia, but I also contribute to the English Wikipedia, the Spanish Wikiversity, Commons, MediaWiki, Meta and a bit on other projects. I don't have special rights on any project HOWEVER I'm trusted power user and a professional MediaWiki freelancer (Upwork profile) with years of experience using the software. I install, configure, migrate, update, fix and do all sort of things with the software on a daily basis since 2013. I created many extensions and contributed to others, developed several skins (see my site http://mediawiki.solutions/) and a bit of core code (Phabricator profile). I'm developing a new potential Wikimedia project, Wikinet, and two sophisticated wiki projects outside Wikimedia (http://formalforum.org and http://edity.org). I got a grant to travel and participate in two MediaWiki Hackathons, Amsterdam 2013 (link) and Jerusalem 2016 (link) and attended the Wikimania 2009 in my home city Buenos Aires (link) where I also participate of my local Wikimedia Chapter (link). All this is to say that although I don't have special rights on any Wikimedia wiki yet (because I never requested them, imho) I nevertheless understand the power and responsibility that come with the global-interface-editor permission I request. Thanks for your time and consideration. --Felipe (talk) 02:45, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

But please note you should only use this permission on request of the larger communities (e.g. being tasked with the maintenance of a certain tool), not out of own initiative to avoid conflicts with the local communities. Done Granted for 1 year to expire on 2017-07-25. After a short period of consideration as indicated above, there is support to grant Felipe Schenone the tools requested. I further add that the user should take special care with what Vogone said on not using the tool without permission from the communities to avoid issues. Per custom, the right is only granted on a temporary basis so I've scheduled this right to be removed in one year since today. Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 09:28, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
