Premium Name Page

The Cross-screen Premium Name Page (PNP) is a character-forward custom ad opportunity that takes over a given actors name page for up to 4 weeks. The PNP lives on all of our platforms: desktop, mobile web, iOS, Android.

The PNP should cater to a specific character or spokesperson and should not include any other characters that do not relate to the given actor the page it is placed on. Using Star Wars as an example for instance, when a User arrives on the Name Page for Harrison Ford, they should only see PNP creative featuring him in his role for Han Solo. They should not see any art centered around Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia as that would cause confusion on the part of our Users that are only interested in IMDb information regarding Han Solo.

This page will walk through the requirements for all versions of the PNP.

Desktop Premium Name Page

Desktop Premium Name Page

The Desktop Premium Name Page will auto play the trailer for up to 30 seconds and at the same time the actor image will animate for up to 8 seconds.

When the User clicks to replay the trailer, the full length trailer will expand out to 970x500px and play through the full trailer with audio (expanded trailer state). The User can then close the unit with the “X” button in the upper right hand part of the video. Clicking that “X” button will collapse the video down to the initial billboard size and display the slate image where the auto playing video was before. On unsupported or low latency browsers, the User will be served a static billboard unit as a fallback option. This fallback option must display evergreen messaging as it cannot be date targeted.

A Desktop Premium Name Page lives above the fold at the top of all IMDb Name pages and is comprised of:

  • A 444x250px trailer video, which may have up to 30 seconds of muted autoplay
  • An expanded 970x500px trailer which can be up to 5 minutes long
  • A 212×316px animated character overlay, up to 8 seconds long
  • Trailer slate image at 970x500px and 444x250px
  • Standard static 970x250px billboard, serves as the static back up for users who can't be served the animated version. May also be used as the resolve if a full trailer is not required
  • Static wrap, 1920x1080px
  • Static 300x250px Companion unit

    Creative Guidelines

The Premium Name Page is divided up into two main states: 1) the resolve state, and 2) the expanded trailer state. Each state is listed below with guidelines. The Desktop PNP also comes with a 300x250 Companion unit as well as an animated character overlay video listed below

    Resolve State

The Resolve State consists of two main parts, the trailer video with slate image (444x250px) and the clickable static side panel (526x250px).

A 444x250px video that fills the left side of the billboard image. 30 seconds of muted autoplay video will play through here with a semi-transparent play button over top. Once the video finishes its initial 30 second play-through, it will resolve to a slate image.

    • Placement: Top of page

By default, the background does not scroll down the page with the user, but fades to a solid color. If a fixed background is desired, please request that functionality in the creative brief.

      ✘ Do not:
      • Include additional characters that do not relate to the Name Page actor
      • Include more than one CTA

Production Timeline

IMDb Ad Production Timelines account for the number of business days it will take to produce an ad unit. Ad Production Timelines include all typical phases of an ad lifecycle such as booking, design, trafficking and testing. Timelines vary depending on who is responsible for designing the ad unit.

  • All timelines begin when design assets are received and approved by IMDb.
  • All timelines end when the ad unit is live on IMDb properties.
