Emmy winner Matthew Rhys reprises his detective role for HBO’s “Perry Mason,” with the second season premiering two years after the reboot premiered. Per the official synopsis, months after the Dodson case has come to an end, the scion of a powerful oil family is brutally murdered. When the Da goes to the city’s Hoovervilles to pinpoint the most obvious of suspects, Perry, Della, and Paul find themselves at the center of a case that will uncover far-reaching conspiracies and force them to reckon with what it truly means to be guilty.

As part of its buildup to the series’ release, the streamer has released the official trailer for the series. Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence wasn’t going to starve herself for “The Hunger Games.”

Lawrence has spoken about being asked to lose 10 pounds for the YA novel adaptation franchise she starred in from 2012 to 2015. She went further during Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, telling Viola Davis about how she was asked to lose weight for the role of Katniss Everdeen.

“In ‘Hunger Games,’ it was an awesome responsibility,” Lawrence explained. “Those books were huge, and I knew that the audience was children. I remember the biggest conversation was, ‘How much weight are you going to lose?'”

The Weeknd will release “Nothing is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” from the soundtrack to the film “Avatar: The Way of Water” on Hollywood Records on December 15.

The song, which was teased last week, was written by the Weeknd and produced by Swedish House Mafia along with Simon Franglen. The album will also feature an original score from Grammy-winning composer Simon Franglen; the film opens in theaters on Friday, December 16.

Visionary director and Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki once said in a translated video interview: “If you don’t spend time watching real people, you can’t do this, because you’ve never seen it.” This maxim alludes to a fundamental reason why the Tokyo-born artist’s films cannot be lumped with and categorized as being tantamount to other anime films of the same period. In spite of their supernatural elements, Miyazaki’s works distinguish themselves because they feel deeply grounded in reality. The characters that populate his films feel as if they could exist outside of them, walk among us as fully-fledged individuals with habits and wishes, virtues and flaws. These characters guide us through stories that provide a reflection of our own world, drawing inescapable allegories and parallels. This reflection is tinted by a dreamlike aesthetic and fantastical elements, that nevertheless, bolster the universal appeal of the director’s features.

Thirteen years after Avatar came out and became the highest-grossing film of all time, James Cameron is finally back with its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. The period between these two films is the longest gap in Cameron’s filmography (the span between Titanic and Avatar comes close to twelve years), making The Way of Water highly anticipated simply for the fact that this film has taken so long to come to fruition. But as they say, you shouldn’t bet against Cameron, and with new Avatar films on the way every two years from now until 2026, it looks like Cameron is back for good.
