Jennifer Lawrence Was Asked to Lose Weight for ‘Hunger Games’: ‘I Can’t Let that Seep Into My Brain’
Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence wasn’t going to starve herself for “The Hunger Games.”

Lawrence has spoken about being asked to lose 10 pounds for the YA novel adaptation franchise she starred in from 2012 to 2015. She went further during Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, telling Viola Davis about how she was asked to lose weight for the role of Katniss Everdeen.

“In ‘Hunger Games,’ it was an awesome responsibility,” Lawrence explained. “Those books were huge, and I knew that the audience was children. I remember the biggest conversation was, ‘How much weight are you going to lose?'”

Lawrence continued, “Along with me being young and growing and not able to be on a diet, I don’t know if I want all of the girls who are going to dress up as Katniss to feel like they can’t because they’re not a certain weight. And I can

Enough Already! Let’s Agree It’s Weird When Gentiles Play Jewish Characters — Opinion
There’s no getting around it: talking about representation in movies these days is a sticky, tricky subject. But is it Ok to admit that when Michelle Williams rattles off a “dahlink” to her brood and Anthony Hopkins instructs his grandson to “be a mensch” in his Welsh brogue, things are a little weird, nu?

There are many examples of what Sarah Silverman called “Jewface” on her podcast last year.

We’ve watched Adam Driver go hard in “BlacKkKlansman” and Rachel Brosnahan bring that shiksa sparkle to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” In “Shiva Baby,” the biggest surprise is that Dianna Agron is Jewish and Rachel Sennott is not. There’s also Steve Carrell in “The Patient,” Rachel McAdams in “Disobedience,” Felicity Jones in “On the Basis of Sex,” almost everyone in “Transparent,” Oscar Isaac in “Scenes from a Marriage,” Helen Mirren in “Golda,” and Daniel Craig in “Defiance.”

James Cameron Not Worried About ‘Avatar 2’ Flopping: ‘If I Like My Movie, I Know Other People Are Gonna Like It’

James Cameron Not Worried About ‘Avatar 2’ Flopping: ‘If I Like My Movie, I Know Other People Are Gonna Like It’
For most directors, the pressure of making a sequel to the highest-grossing film in history (unadjusted for inflation) might be too much to bear, especially when that sequel cost 250 million and is arriving after a gap of some 13 years into a theatrical landscape decimated by both technology and the Covid-19 pandemic.

But then most directors – actually, most humans – haven’t been down to the bottom of the Mariana trench, the world’s deepest oceanic trench where pressure is a way of life.

Which is perhaps why James Cameron, who has braved those depths and directed two of the world’s highest grossing films seems pretty chill about the imminent release of “Avatar: The Way of Water” this month.

Despite Cameron’s unparalleled box office success (or perhaps because of it), there is a sense of gleeful anticipation in the air that “Avatar 2” might be the film to finally fell

Charlize Theron Used To Make Fun of Marvel “Nerds” Before She Saw The Films: “Oh My God, They’re So F*cking Good”
As revealed at the end of “Doctor Strange in the Mulitiverse of Madness,” Charlize Theron is now firmly set up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That film introduced Theron’s Clea, another powerful sorcerer on the level of Doctor Strange and hinted that the duo will be jumping around universes trying to keep things in order. But before she signed on to show up as Clea, Theron doesn’t hide the fact that she was “ignorant” about the MCU and prejudged fans of the franchise.

“It’s crazy because it was my first day with Covid so it was awful to film,” Ortega said. “I woke up and – it’s weird, I never get sick, and when I do, it’s not very bad – I had the body aches. I felt like I’d

‘M3GAN’ Trailer: A Murderous Robot Doll Does A Dance Before Killing In Upcoming Blumhouse Horror

‘M3GAN’ Trailer: A Murderous Robot Doll Does A Dance Before Killing In Upcoming Blumhouse Horror
It’s clear that the upcoming Blumhouse film, “M3GAN,” gets some inspiration from slashers of the past, particularly the “Child’s Play” series. However, for as crazy as “Child’s Play” is, there’s something even more unhinged about “M3GAN,” when you watch the latest trailer for the film.

Maybe it’s the music. Maybe it’s when the murderous AI-powered child robot decides to do a dance number before killing someone with a paper cutter.

Princess Mononoke’s Exploration of Man vs. Nature Endures the Test of Time

Princess Mononoke’s Exploration of Man vs. Nature Endures the Test of Time
Visionary director and Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki once said in a translated video interview: “If you don’t spend time watching real people, you can’t do this, because you’ve never seen it.” This maxim alludes to a fundamental reason why the Tokyo-born artist’s films cannot be lumped with and categorized as being tantamount to other anime films of the same period. In spite of their supernatural elements, Miyazaki’s works distinguish themselves because they feel deeply grounded in reality. The characters that populate his films feel as if they could exist outside of them, walk among us as fully-fledged individuals with habits and wishes, virtues and flaws. These characters guide us through stories that provide a reflection of our own world, drawing inescapable allegories and parallels. This reflection is tinted by a dreamlike aesthetic and fantastical elements, that nevertheless, bolster the universal appeal of the director’s features.

James Cameron on the 13-Year Gap Between Avatar and The Way of Water

James Cameron on the 13-Year Gap Between Avatar and The Way of Water
Thirteen years after Avatar came out and became the highest-grossing film of all time, James Cameron is finally back with its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. The period between these two films is the longest gap in Cameron’s filmography (the span between Titanic and Avatar comes close to twelve years), making The Way of Water highly anticipated simply for the fact that this film has taken so long to come to fruition. But as they say, you shouldn’t bet against Cameron, and with new Avatar films on the way every two years from now until 2026, it looks like Cameron is back for good.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Casts Wanda Sykes

The Bad Batch Season 2 Casts Wanda Sykes
Though it's technically an ensemble piece, the cast of Star Wars: The Bad Batch has always been fairly small, with Dee Bradley Baker doing quintuple duty (at the very least) as the adult, male clones and Michelle Ang playing their young charge, the unaltered female clone Omega. However, Disney+ recently announced that the cast is getting just a little bigger with the addition of comedian Wanda Sykes, who will guest star in Season 2 as the mysterious Phee Genoa.

‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Season 2 Trailer: This Is ‘Andor’ for Kids but with Rhea Perlman

‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Season 2 Trailer: This Is ‘Andor’ for Kids but with Rhea Perlman
Star Wars: The Bad Batch” was one of the most pleasant surprises of the “Star Wars” Streaming TV Era.

The Dave Filoni-created show anticipated many of the things that fans came to like so much about “Andor”: its focus on new characters, its more grounded stakes, the way it brings the fascist oppression of the Empire to life in more real-world, less mystical ways. Did it get the buzz of the live-action shows? No. But those looking to scratch that “Star Wars” itch before “The Mandalorian” returns in March would do well to consider giving “The Bad Batch” a try when it returns for Season 2 on January 4. Watch the trailer for the new season below.

The Bad Batch” is obviously designed more for kids and their parents, and you can detect some broader notes of comedy in the trailer, but otherwise it’s striking how much the show

As it turns out, directing duo Matt Bettinelli-Opin and Tyler Gillett won’t be holding anything back gore-wise this time around.

Jennifer Lawrence: The Biggest Reaction to ‘Hunger Games’ Casting Was ‘How Much Weight Are You Going to Lose?’
Jennifer Lawrence joined Viola Davis for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series and revealed the one concern everyone had when her casting for “The Hunger Games” was announced: “How much weight are you going to lose?” Despite an Oscar nomination for “Winter’s Bone,” Lawrence was still a relative newcomer when she was cast as Katniss Everdeen. “The Hunger Games” would turn Lawrence into a worldwide superstar.

“In ‘Hunger Games,’ it was an awesome responsibility,” Lawrence said of the role. “Those books were huge, and I knew that the audience was children.
