How do the awards work?
Nominations were open to November 20. Readers entered their nominations in each category, together with any comments on their picks. That’s it! Nominations for our Reader Travel Awards are free and open to all readers in Ireland and overseas.
What happens next?
Nominations are now closed. From here, the top nominees will be tallied and our expert judging panel will adjudicate — choosing the final winners and runners-up from your favourites. Winners of our travel prizes will be contacted before the awards reveal in January.
When will the award winners be announced?
The final lists of winners and runners-up will be published on Independent.ie and in Weekend magazine on Saturday, January 21.
