Tim Allen gave the public an update on Jay Leno’s condition on Thursday, November 17, after visiting the hospital where the former Tonight Show host was recovering from burns sustained in a gasoline fire four days prior. “Jay is good,” Allen told TMZ on his way out of the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, CA. “It’s wonderful because he’s feeling better. … I took him some car magazines. We did some jokes, which is what we do. We commiserated. CBS News is halting its activity on Twitter over Elon Musk’s turbulent and potentially devastating moves following his takeover of the company.

“In light of the uncertainty around Twitter and out of an abundance of caution, CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform,” Jonathan Vigliotti, CBS News national correspondent, said in a report about the latest chaos at the company on the “CBS Evening News” Friday.

NBC and E! have announced that Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Shania Twain will be honored with the music icon award at this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

ABC isn’t going to Avalon after all: The network is scrapping the upcoming drama starring Neve Campbell, TVLine has learned, despite a straight-to-series order.

The series, based on a short story by Michael Connelly (whose works have inspired Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer), was set to star Campbell as L.A. Sheriff Department Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy, who heads up a small office on Catalina Island. As more than a million tourists pour into the island each year, Detective Searcy is pulled into a career-defining mystery that will challenge everything she knows about herself and the island. ABC has reversed course on the drama series “Avalon,” opting not to move forward with the show despite giving it a straight-to-series order in February.

“Avalon” hailed from David E. Kelley and executive producer Michael Connelly, with the show based on a short story that Connelly wrote. Neve Campbell was set to star in the lead role. Other cast members included Demetrius Grosse, Alexa Mansour, Steven Pasquale, and Roslyn Ruff.

Per the official logline, the show “takes place in the main city of Avalon on Catalina Island, where LA Sheriff Department Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy (Campbell) heads up a small office.

ABC has released a pair of new promos for the upcoming special Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration (airing Thursday, Dec. 15 at 8/7c), giving us a sneak peek at Grammy winner H.E.R. as Belle and chart-topping singer Josh Groban as the Beast. The special is billed as a “reimagining” of the classic Disney animated film, with a blend of animation and live-action performances to be taped in front of a live audience.
