Dusty Springfield was an icon of swinging 60s London, a pioneer of the British pop invasion of America, and the peerless queen of blue-eyed soul. An early champion of Motown, she used her TV clout to introduce Europe to Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes and Martha and the Vandellas. A little later she was instrumental in getting Led Zeppelin airborne with their first record deal.
