The winners of the first-ever Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering awards have been revealed!
Celebrating the role models and organisations empowering women in construction and engineering the new awards was jointly launched by NCE and its sister title Construction News. In total, seven winners have been crowned recognising the women and teams that stand out as exceptional and are designed to showcase both individual and organisation wide initiatives.
“Honouring and showcasing those who have made a difference for women in the industry is not only important for the individuals and teams themselves, it also is critical to create role models for those looking to come into the industry,” said New Civil Engineer editor Claire Smith.
“Construction and engineering have been facing skills crisis for decades, the only way to solve this is to get more people – men and women – to join the industry. “Historically construction has failed to attract the same number of women as men so events like this are important to show that the sector is one that will support women and raise the profile of the industry as an attractive career path for all.”
