Members of the Gorey business community had the opportunity to meet and mingle at the first Wexford Chamber Business After Hours networking event in The Hatch Lab last week.

Aimed at offering the business community in Gorey the chance to network with other  people and make new connections, the event attracted a large crowd of business representatives from across the town and beyond.

During a welcome speech to attendees, County Wexford Chamber president Brendan Crowley said these events were vital for the business community. He added that The Hatch Lab was an ideal venue, given the variety of businesses located within in it and the M11 Business Campus.

A video highlighting the services offered by County Wexford Chamber was shown to attendees on the evening. In it, Deputy CEO Emma Dunphy outlined services such as the Shop Local Vouchers, which have now reached close to €1 million in sales. Ms Dunphy also highlighted the successes of the JobsFest and the Business Awards, as well as events such as the Business After Hours with SETU president Professor Veronica Campbell in Wexford, and the information evening two days after the Budget with Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe TD.

The Hatch Lab manager, John O’Connor, outlined how the Tech Incubator space in Gorey has proved invaluable as an alternative to commuting, while he also talked about how such a space can help to combat the isolation of working from home for those in business. The Hatch Lab was designed specifically for technology companies, supporting business concepts, business start-ups and co-working staff.

Following the formal presentations, attendees had the chance to enjoy refreshments, explore The Hatch Lab and get to know some of the other members of the business community.
