ਮਈ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਜੀ,

ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਠੀਕ ਠਾਕ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ। ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਈ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਅਪਡੇਟ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹੀਨਾਵਾਰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਦਿਆਂ 28/29 ਮਈ ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ/ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 5 ਤੋਂ 6 ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੈ। ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਲਈ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਦਸੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਦਿਨ ਮਿੱਥ ਸਕੀਏ। ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ 'ਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਜੋੜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਤਦੀਪ ਗਿੱਲ ਦਵਾਰਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਿੰਡ ਭਾਈ ਰੂਪਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਖਰੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਕੈਨਿੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਸਕੈਨਿੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ(ਹਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ) ਆਪਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਮਬੰਦੀ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ CIS-A2K ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਾਂਟ ਵੀ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਗ੍ਰਾੰਟ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਜੋ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ {{support}} ਲਿੱਖ ਕੇ ਦਸਤਖਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।--^Talk 14:13, 29 ਮਈ 2022 (UTC)Reply[ਜੁਆਬ ਦਿਉ]

ਮੈਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਿੰਡ ਚੌਟਾਲਾ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿਰਸਾ, ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ 29 ਮਈ 2022 ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ Manpreetsir ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕੀਪੀਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕੰਨਿਆਂ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਚੌਟਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 14 ਜਣਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਕੀਪੀਡੀਆ ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਮੈਟਾ ਪੇਜ ਦਾ ਲਿੰਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਲੀਕੀ ਗਈ। ਅਗਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਤੇ ਉਡੀਕ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ। Mulkh Singh (ਗੱਲ-ਬਾਤ) 16:35, 29 ਮਈ 2022 (UTC)Reply[ਜੁਆਬ ਦਿਉ]

ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਠੀਕ ਠਾਕ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਈ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਈ ਚਰਚਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਨ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਤਰੀਖ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਲੈਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਾਂ ਆਡੀਓਬੁਕਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ, ਵਿਕੀਮੇਨੀਆ ਬਰਲਿਨ ਸਮਿਟ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਜਰ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਵਿਕੀਸੋਰਸ ਈਵੈਂਟ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਾਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਕੁਛ ਸੀ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਾਂ ਵਿਕੀਸੋਰਸ ਈਵੈਂਟ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ। ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨਾਵਾਰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਐਤਵਾਰ 26 ਜੂਨ ਸਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ 5 ਤੋਂ 6 ਵਜੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਲਈ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਦਸੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਮਿੱਥ ਸਕੀਏ। ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ 'ਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਜੋੜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

June Month Celebration 2022 edit-a-thon[ਸੋਧੋ]

Dear Wikimedians,

CIS-A2K announced June month mini edit-a-thon which is going to take place on 25 & 26 June 2022 (on this weekend). The motive of conducting this edit-a-thon is to celebrate June Month which is also known as pride month.

This time we will celebrate the month, which is full of notable days, by creating & developing articles on local Wikimedia projects, such as proofreading the content on Wikisource if there are any, items that need to be created on Wikidata [edit Labels & Descriptions], some June month related content must be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and so on. Hi all,

Community members are invited to propose statements to use in the Election Compass for the 2022 Board of Trustees election.

An Election Compass is a tool to help voters select the candidates that best align with their beliefs and views. The community members will propose statements for the candidates to answer using a Lickert scale (agree/neutral/disagree). The candidates’ answers to the statements will be loaded into the Election Compass tool. Voters will use the tool by entering in their answer to the statements (agree/neutral/disagree). The results will show the candidates that best align with the voter’s beliefs and views.

Here is the timeline for the Election Compass:

• July 8 - 20: Community members propose statements for the Election Compass
• July 21 - 22: Elections Committee reviews statements for clarity and removes off-topic statements
• July 23 - August 1: Volunteers vote on the statements
• August 2 - 4: Elections Committee selects the top 15 statements
• August 5 - 12: candidates align themselves with the statements
• August 15: The Election Compass opens for voters to use to help guide their voting decision

The Elections Committee will select the top 15 statements at the beginning of August. The Elections Committee will oversee the process, supported by the Movement Strategy and Governance (MSG) team. MSG will check that the questions are clear, there are no duplicates, no typos, and so on.

• Read candidates’ statements and read the candidates’ answers to the questions posed by the Affiliate Representatives.
• Propose and select the 6 questions for candidates to answer during their video Q&A.
• See the Analysis Committee’s ratings of candidates on each candidate’s statement.
• Propose statements for the Election Compass voters can use to find which candidates best fit their principles.
• Encourage others in your community to take part in the election.

Dear community members,

Volunteers in the 2022 Board of Trustees election are invited to vote for statements to use in the Election Compass. You can vote for the statements you would like to see included in the Election Compass on Meta-wiki.

An Election Compass is a tool to help voters select the candidates that best align with their beliefs and views. The community members will propose statements for the candidates to answer using a Lickert scale (agree/neutral/disagree). The candidates’ answers to the statements will be loaded into the Election Compass tool. Voters will use the tool by entering in their answer to the statements (agree/neutral/disagree). The results will show the candidates that best align with the voter’s beliefs and views.

Here is the timeline for the Election Compass:

• July 8 - 20: Volunteers propose statements for the Election Compass
• July 21 - 22: Elections Committee reviews statements for clarity and removes off-topic statements
• July 23 - August 1: Volunteers vote on the statements
• August 2 - 4: Elections Committee selects the top 15 statements
• August 5 - 12: candidates align themselves with the statements
• August 15: The Election Compass opens for voters to use to help guide their voting decision

The Elections Committee will select the top 15 statements at the beginning of August

Delay of Board of Trustees Election[ਸੋਧੋ]

Dear community members,

I am reaching out to you today with an update about the timing of the voting for the Board of Trustees election.

As many of you are already aware, this year we are offering an Election Compass to help voters identify the alignment of candidates on some key topics. Several candidates requested an extension of the character limitation on their responses expanding on their positions, and the Elections Committee felt their reasoning was consistent with the goals of a fair and equitable election process.

To ensure that the longer statements can be translated in time for the election, the Elections Committee and Board Selection Task Force decided to delay the opening of the Board of Trustees election by one week - a time proposed as ideal by staff working to support the election.

Although it is not expected that everyone will want to use the Election Compass to inform their voting decision, the Elections Committee felt it was more appropriate to open the voting period with essential translations for community members across languages to use if they wish to make this important decision.

The voting will open on August 23 at 00:00 UTC and close on September 6 at 23:59 UTC.

WikiConference India 2023: Initial conversations[ਸੋਧੋ]

Dear Wikimedians,

Hope all of you are doing well. We are glad to inform you to restart the conversation to host the next WikiConference India 2023 after WCI 2020 which was not conducted due to the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic, it couldn't take place. However, we are hoping to reinitiate this discussion and for that we need your involvement, suggestions and support to help organize a much needed conference in February-March of 2023.

The proposed 2023 conference will bring our energies, ideas, learnings, and hopes together. This conference will provide a national-level platform for Indian Wikimedians to connect, re-connect, and establish their collaboration itself can be a very important purpose on its own- in the end it will empower us all to strategize, plan ahead and collaborate- as a movement.

We hope we, the Indian Wikimedia Community members, come together in various capacities and make this a reality. We believe we will take learnings from earlier attempts, improve processes & use best practices in conducting this conference purposefully and fruitfully.

Here is a survey form to get your responses on the same notion. Unfortunately we are working with short timelines since the final date of proposal submission is 5 September. We request you please fill out the form by 28th August. After your responses, we can decide if we have the community need and support for the conference. The Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement Guidelines Revisions committee is requesting comments regarding the Revised Enforcement Draft Guidelines for the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC). This review period will be open from 8 September 2022 until 8 October 2022.

The Committee collaborated to revise these draft guidelines based on input gathered from the community discussion period from May through July, as well as the community vote that concluded in March 2022. The revisions are focused on the following four areas:

1. To identify the type, purpose, and applicability of the UCoC training;
2. To simplify the language for more accessible translation and comprehension by non-experts;
3. To explore the concept of affirmation, including its pros and cons;
4. To review the balancing of the privacy of the accuser and the accused

The Committee requests comments and suggestions about these revisions by 8 October 2022. From there, the Revisions Committee anticipates further revising the guidelines based on community input.

Everyone may share comments in a number of places. Facilitators welcome comments in any language on the Revisions Guideline Talk Page. Comments can also be shared on talk pages of translations, at local discussions, or during conversation hours. There are planned live discussions about the UCoC enforcement draft guidelines.

The facilitation team supporting this review period hopes to reach a large number of communities. If you do not see a conversation happening in your community, please organize a discussion. Facilitators can assist you in setting up the conversations. Discussions will be summarized and presented to the drafting committee every two weeks. The summaries will be published here.

Hello everyone,

We are happy to inform you that we have submitted the Conference & Event Grant proposal for WikiConference India 2023 to the Wikimedia Foundation. We kindly request all the community members to go through the proposal -- including the community engagement survey report, program plan, venue and logistics, participation and scholarships, and the budget, and provide us with your suggestions/comments on the talk page. You can endorse the proposal in the endorsements section, please do add a rationale for supporting this project.

According to the timeline of the Conference and Event Grants program, the community can review till 23 September 2022, post that we will start integrating all the received feedback to make modifications to the proposal. Depending on the response of community members, an IRC may be hosted next week, especially if there are any questions/concerns that need to be addressed.

We reopened the survey form and if you are still interested in taking part in the survey and you have something in mind to share or want to become a part of the organizing team, please fill out the form so we all can work together.
