I currently am trying to purchase a new monitor to replace my old 21" monitor. I've decided to get an upgrade from the $170NZD monitor in favour of one in the price range of $300-$400NZD. A local retailer is having a boxing day sale, hence the three day deadline (till the 29th of December). The two monitors my eyes are set upon are the LG 29UM68-P and the Asus VX279H. Specs of each below.
LG 29UM68-P: Screen size(diagonal):29"/73.66cm Screen size(area):304.38inches2/1963.74cm2 Response time:5ms GTG Aspect ratio: 21:9 Resolution:2560*1080 Refresh Rate:75hz
VX279H: Screen size(diagonal):27"/68.6cm Screen size(area):310.2 inches2/773.13cm2 Response time: 5ms GTG Aspect ratio: 16:9 Resolution: 1920*1080 Refresh rate:60hz
I find the idea of ultrasound re highly appealing but it's a risky choice, given I play Overwatch and Hearthstone, which being blizzard games will require some form of hack to get proper ultrawide, as likely with my second most played game, Dirty Bomb.
tl;dr: I need to buy a monitor within the next three days which will cost between $300NZD and $400NZD, which shall I get?
