Services

Every day, 365 days a year

At Gloucester Cathedral, Christian worship takes place every day of the week. Read on to find out more about our weekly pattern of services, which all are welcome to attend.

Sunday

The Eucharist, 10.15am in the Nave

This is our main Sunday morning service and is a celebration of The Eucharist, often called Holy Communion, instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper. It takes place in the Nave of the Cathedral every week. In this service we hear and respond to readings from the Bible and then take, bless and share bread and wine, following Jesus’ command to do this in remembrance of Him. Click here to view the order of service for this week.

Evensong, 3pm in the Quire

On Sundays, Evensong takes place in the Quire at 3pm. This service is focused on the singing of texts taken directly from the Bible, in addition to hearing the Bible read and prayers. The service is usually sung by one of the Cathedral Choirs. You can read more about our choirs here.

On certain Sundays, Evening Prayer will take place instead but please check exact details on the calendar.
