Editorial Testing Q&A
Law360 prides itself on hiring the best and the brightest in all departments and
therefore has a thorough interviewing process for each position. In our editorial
department, this includes a series of assessments which vary by position.
Q: How do I take the assessment?
A: First, submit your application for the desired position. Your application will be
reviewed and if you meet our qualifications, you will receive an email in 5-7 business
days with more information.
Q: What is the assessment like?
A: For reporters and news assistants, the first assessment is comprised of three
sections designed to assess your skills in the following areas: general aptitude and
reading comprehension, headline and lead paragraph writing, and reporting.
For editors, the assessment is comprised of three sections designed to assess your
skills in the following areas: general aptitude and reading comprehension, headline
and lead paragraph writing, and editing.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Once you receive the assessment link, you have 7 days to access the link and
complete the test. This allows you to take the assessment when it is convenient
for you. The length of the assessment varies depending on which position you have
applied for.
Q: Can I use outside resources?
A: We ask that you do not use any outside resources or research materials while
taking the test.
Q: How can I prepare?
A: There is no need to prepare! Just be sure to be in a location conducive to
concentrating and with a secure internet connection.
