Jane Fonda announced on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and has started chemotherapy treatments.

“This is a very treatable cancer,” Fonda wrote in the post. “80 of people survive, so I feel very lucky. I’m also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it’s painful, that I am privileged in this. Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving and this is not right.”

Fonda said she will be “doing chemo for 6 months,” adding, “I am handling the treatments quite well and, believe me, I will not let any of this interfere with my climate activism.”

Brendan Fraser’s return to Hollywood at the 79th Venice Film Festival was met with many tears.

During Sunday night’s world premiere of “The Whale”, the 53-year-old actor was overcome with emotion as he sobbed throughout the film’s entire six-minute standing ovation.

The actor revealed the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself at the ceremony held in the village of Moata’a, located on the island of Upolu in Samoa.

Jackie Evancho is opening up about her anorexia recovery.

The 22-year-old singer, who found fame at age 10 while competing on season 5 of “America’s Got Talent”, told Yahoo how the making of her new cover album, Carousel of Time, has greatly contributed to her healing process.

Part of her recovery has involved interpreting songs like “Both Sides Now” from one of her biggest childhood influences, Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, for the upcoming album, out Sept. 9. However, Evancho clarified that her personal struggles didn’t influence Mitchell’s “story-songs” that she leaned towards when putting together the tracklist.

Florence Pugh will not be joining co-star Harry Styles and director Olivia Wilde at the Venice International Film Festival press conference for their new film “Don’t Worry Darling”.

The new film has been dogged with controversy over the circumstances involving Shia Labeouf exiting the leading role and then replaced by Harry Styles, with whom Wilde became romantically involved during filming.

As Deadline reports, “fireworks” are expected at Monday’s presser for the film, given that Wilde and Labeouf have offered wildly different accounts of his departure from the film, while some reports have claimed Pugh was distressed by Wilde and Styles openly flaunting their relationship on the set.

Brendan Fraser has played plenty of big-screen heroes, ranging from “George of the Jungle” to Rick O’Connell in “The Mummy” movies, yet he believes his latest role — a severely obese man in “The Whale” — may be the most heroic character he’s ever played.

In the Darren Aronofsky-directed movie, which will be among the films featured at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival later this month, Fraser plays Charlie, a reclusive teacher whose health is rapidly declining as he reaches out to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Sadie Sink) before it’s too late.

As preliminary Emmys are awarded in advance of this year’s ceremony on Sept. 12, this year’s Super Bowl halftime show has picked up this year’s award for Outstanding Variety Special.

This year’s halftime show, produced by Jesse Collins and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, and marked the first time the Super Bowl showcased hip hop artists, with a 17-minute performance featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar.

As Variety points out, this also marks the first time the Super Bowl halftime show has won and Emmy in that category.
