NBC’s Law & Order franchise will open the 2022-23 by doing something it has never done in its long history.

All three shows in the brand — the original L&o, Svu and Organized Crime — will come together for a single story spanning their season premieres on Sept. 22. It’s a first for Law & Order but not for executive producer Dick Wolf, whose teams have pulled off similar three-show events on NBC’s Chicago dramas and CBS’ FBI franchise.

Law & Order showrunner Rick Eid and Chicago Pd’s Gwen Sigan wrote the feature-length telecast. Franchise veteran Jean de Segonzac directs the first two hours; Alex Hall helms the third.

A live-action series about the origin of King Kong is in early development at Disney+, Variety has confirmed.

The series would be a serialized drama that would explore Kong’s origins as well as the mysteries of his home, Skull Island.

The series would be based on the original “King Kong” written by Merian C. Cooper as well as new novelizations by artist Joe DeVito produced in conjunction with Cooper’s estate.

With 77.4 million hours watched, the series was Netflix’s most-viewed title during the Aug. 15-21 viewing window — racking up more hours viewed than Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman,” which was the most-viewed title the previous two weeks.

Paul Rudd has joined the cast of “Only Murders in the Building.”

Amandla Stenberg might not have been a “die-hard nerd” for “Star Wars” before being cast in upcoming Disney+ series “The Acolyte,” but she is now using the franchise gig as an excuse to dive deep into the canon.

Like Stenberg’s “Obi-Wan Kenobi” franchise canon counterparts Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor, the “Bodies Bodies Bodies” actress has been binging all-things “Star Wars” to prepare for her lead role as a Sith in the mystery-thriller series about the final days of the High Republic era. “The Acolyte” is helmed by “Russian Doll” co-creator Leslye Headland.

“When I got this job, it became a license to completely lose myself into the ‘Star Wars’ universe and never reemerge! It’s been really fun for me,” Stenberg told “Euphoria” star and real-life pal Hunter Schafer during a cover story for The Cut.

Scott Caan has signed on for a leading role in the Fox drama series “Alert,” Variety has confirmed.
