Updated Monday: The Iranian government has denied any involvement in the attack on Salman Rushdie, according to the Associated Press.

Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said in a briefing to journalists on Monday: “We, in the incident of the attack on Salman Rushdie in the U.S., do not consider that anyone deserves blame and accusations except him and his supporters. Nobody has right to accuse Iran in this regard.”

“By insulting the sacred matters of Islam and crossing the red lines of more than 1.5 billion Muslims and all followers of the divine religions, Salman Rushdie

In an interview with the Sunday Times, where he was in conversation with “Pointless” presenter Richard Osman, King said: “I happen to think that Trump was a horrible president and is a horrible person. I think he actually engaged in criminal behavior and, certainly, I felt that he was a sociopath who tried to overturn the American democracy not out of any political wish of his own but because he could not admit that he had lost.”

‘Westworld’s’ Season 4 Finale Suggests the Show Is at the End of the Line: TV Review

‘Westworld’s’ Season 4 Finale Suggests the Show Is at the End of the Line: TV Review
Spoiler Alert: This review contains spoilers for the Season 4 finale of “Westworld,” entitled “Que Será, Será,” now streaming on HBO Max.

Reviewing the first four episodes of “Westworld’s” fourth season, I noted that the show seemed unnecessarily convoluted, purposefully obscuring what was even happening until the season’s fourth episode. With the back half of “Westworld’s” season having now aired — the finale dropped August 14 — that convolution seems to have served a purpose. The show spent half its 2022 episodes avoiding getting to the point because, once there, there wasn’t that much to say.

The reveal at midseason was

‘Tales of the Walking Dead’ Kicks Off with Some Familiar Franchise Beats (Recap)
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Tales of the Walking Dead Season 1 episode 1, “Evie/ Joe.”] Why did the dog have to die?! It’s perhaps not a great sign that what stuck with me most about Tales of the Walking Dead’s series premiere isn’t any of the human characters or their struggles, but the fact that The Walking Dead’s universe is a crappy place for cute animals. Curtis Bonds Baker/AMC The dog’s name was Gilligan, and she belonged to Joe, played by Terry Crews. When the apocalypse happens, they’re living in Joe’s bunker. Like the Otto family in Fear’s early days, Joe is a doomsday prepper. He seems content to live out the rest of his days in his well-stocked bunker, watching old football games with his dog. But one night, he takes Gilligan outside to “do her business,” and a ...

Before you answer in the comments section, let’s go over the plot that made a tag team of Terry Crews and Olivia Munn, shall we?

‘Grantchester’s Tom Brittney on That Surprising Finale: ‘We Had as Much Secrecy as Marvel’

‘Grantchester’s Tom Brittney on That Surprising Finale: ‘We Had as Much Secrecy as Marvel’
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Grantchester Season 7 Finale.] The vicar of Grantchester is a bachelor no more. In a whirlwind season finale of the Masterpiece Mystery! series on PBS, Tom Brittney’s young and restless reverend, Will Davenport, married Charlotte Ritchie’s spirited widow, Bonnie Evans. The wedding was filmed on location in the English village where the show is set, and Brittney tells TV Insider that it took some subterfuge to keep the surprise ending under wraps. “We had a fake bride, and between scenes, I would put on my cassock, so it looked like I was just officiating another person’s wedding,” he says. “Then we would sneak Charlotte into the church, away from the photographers who come to take photos of us while we shoot. We had as much secrecy as Marvel.” Not to mention desserts that looked delicious even if the cast couldn’t eat them. “And I still hold on

‘Westworld’ Delivers an Emotional, Mostly Satisfying Season 4 Finale (Recap)
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Westworld Season 4 Episode 8, “Que Sera, Sera.”] Well, it wouldn’t be an episode of Westworld if your brain wasn’t sweating by the time the final credits roll. “Que Sera, Sera” doesn’t answer every question posed by the previous seven episodes, but it does a good enough job to leave viewers satisfied — and hungry for more, should HBO renew the show for a fifth season. (Fingers crossed.) There are gunfights, tears, and deaths aplenty, and a beloved character from earlier seasons makes a welcome reappearance. Here’s how it happens. HBO Caleb, Frankie, and Stubbs After Frankie’s (Aurora Perrineau) shot, Team Caleb takes a pause in an alleyway. As Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth) scouts out the area, he notices Caleb (Aaron Paul) twitching and reminds him that the Delos experiments never worked out, so there’s a good chance he’s not going to, either. Animal Kingdom Recap: [Spoiler] 'Rises From the Grave' to Fire Up Pope

Animal Kingdom Recap: [Spoiler] 'Rises From the Grave' to Fire Up Pope
Lenny Kravitz called it when he sang that it ain’t over till it’s over, ’cause we sure thought that Animal Kingdom’s Pope was as good as done for. But a visit from a “ghost” in Sunday’s episode seemed to restore his lust for life.

In the especially flashback-filled “Hit and Run,” we followed the erstwhile Andrew staking out a bank to rob with Baz (Scott Speedman, back in action). Rather than just focus on the job at hand, Catherine’s boyfriend called his “brother” on leaving flowers in her car and told him not to be a weirdo.

Westworld Recap: 'Maybe This Time...' — Did Season 4 End With a Bang? And Was That Maybe a Series Finale?
Westworld Season 4 — and possibly the series? — concluded on Sunday night with “Que Sera, Sera,” a finale that pit Hale, Christina, Caleb et al against a world on fire. (The EPs tell our sister site Deadline there is no word on renewal yet.)

The finale opens with a street littered with corpses. Civilians kill each other without mercy or ceremony, turning once-quiet city blocks into veritable war zones. Fleeting guest castings come and go. (Hey, Steven Ogg!) A young sharpshooter takes out a handful of these murderous pedestrians, before William kills him. The Man in Black has very much plunged the

‘The Rehearsal’ Subject Angela Addresses Religious Disputes, Says She’s ‘Satisfied With How the Cut Came Out’

‘The Rehearsal’ Subject Angela Addresses Religious Disputes, Says She’s ‘Satisfied With How the Cut Came Out’
Nathan Fielder brought “The Rehearsal” to new heights with this week’s episode, tackling the issue of raising a (fake) child in an interfaith household on his HBO social experiment series. Angela, the subject of the show’s primary rehearsal, addressed the episode’s heated religious discussions, as well as why she chose to exit her rehearsal, in a video posted to the “Nathan for You Businessposting” Facebook group, named after Fielder’s previous Comedy Central show.

Angela, who has now appeared in four episodes of “The Rehearsal,” is a devout Christian who approached her childrearing simulation with an interest in faith-based education.

Virgin River's Benjamin Hollingsworth Reflects on Brady's Redemption Arc, Teases 'Unexpected' Season 5 Twists
What a ride it’s been for ol’ Dan Brady.

The fourth season of Netflix’s Virgin River kicked off with Benjamin Hollingsworth‘s character newly behind bars for shooting Jack way back in the Season 2 finale. (You know, in case you forgot how slowly time progresses in this town.) And Brady’s days in the prison yard, though limited, were certainly memorable.

‘Better Call Saul’ Team on the ‘Pressure’ to Deliver a Satisfying Finale

‘Better Call Saul’ Team on the ‘Pressure’ to Deliver a Satisfying Finale
The series finale of Better Call Saul is almost here and the cast and creatives are offering some insight into the closing chapter. Gathering for a virtual panel at the Summer 2022 TCA session, co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould joined stars Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn for a conversation reflecting on the show and answering questions about what’s next for Jimmy (Odenkirk) and Kim (Seehorn) in the finale. Following a successful Breaking Bad finale delivery in 2013, there’s certainly pressure on Gilligan and Gould to live up to that, and it’s something they’re both acutely aware of. “It’s a lot of pressure. It’s very scary. A lot of sweaty palms, a lot of sleepless nights,” Gould acknowledged during the panel. “I think those of us on the show are very happy with where it ended,” he added. Ultimately, it’s up to the fans to

Never Have I Ever Season 3 Finale Recap: Devi Makes Two Life-Changing Decisions — Plus, Grade It!

Never Have I Ever Season 3 Finale Recap: Devi Makes Two Life-Changing Decisions — Plus, Grade It!
From the very first episode of Never Have I Ever, Devi has professed to want to lose her virginity Asap. Though her heart has not always been 100 percent behind the endeavor — as was the case in the Season 3 premiere — she enters the season finale with the determination not to be one of those “dusty” virgins who goes off to college unsullied.

The topic arises after two significant developments take place. First, Devi is chosen to attend a prestigious — if hippie-ish — program for seniors in Colorado. Admittance all but paves the way to the Ivy League, increasing her chances of getting admitted to Princeton.

Julia Garner’s Dual ‘Ozark’ and ‘Inventing Anna’ Nominations Solidify Her Status as ‘Emmy Catnip’

Julia Garner’s Dual ‘Ozark’ and ‘Inventing Anna’ Nominations Solidify Her Status as ‘Emmy Catnip’
When it comes to turning Emmy nominations into Emmy wins, Julia Garner is so far batting a thousand. The actor was nominated in 2019 and 2020 in the supporting actress in a drama series category for “Ozark” — and she won both times.

Now, Garner has doubled her Emmy nominations tally to four, picking up another supporting actress nod for the final season of “Ozark” and also landing one for her “Inventing Anna” role, as lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.

Given her “Ozark” success, that nomination wasn’t a shock. But the success of “Inventing Anna” at the

Insidious Movies In Order

Insidious Movies In Order
If you’re looking for a fright-filled marathon this weekend, look no further than the Insidious movies.

If you’re a fan of horror movies, then you’ve probably heard of the Insidious franchise. The four films in the series are all connected, and they tell a chilling story of ghosts, demonic possession, and hauntings.

Whether you’re revisiting the Insidious films or watching them for the first time, there are two options for the viewing order: following the exact release dates or allowing the narrative to unfold chronologically.

You can’t go wrong with either option; however, a chronological viewing may be more appealing if you want to learn all prequel backstories before getting involved with the characters. The story of the franchise revolves around the lambert family and Elise Rainier, who help the family try to get away from the evil spirits in the house.

We’ll give

Bob Greenblatt Turns His ‘Gift of Free Time’ into Memoir of Producing, Programming and Persevering

Bob Greenblatt Turns His ‘Gift of Free Time’ into Memoir of Producing, Programming and Persevering
Bob Greenblatt’s rollercoaster ride as an executive over the past four years is a perfect illustration of the speed and magnitude of industry disruption.

The longtime executive left his post as NBC Entertainment chairman in September 2018 after seven solid years. He joined up with AT&T’s WarnerMedia as head of HBO and Direct-to-Consumer in March 2019, but 17 months later got pushed out of that role in a massive shakeup. In January, he celebrated the launch of “The Gilded Age,” the costume drama series that he produced for HBO, which has a new owner in Warner Bros. Discovery since Greenblatt last
