Liverpool FC to debut new away kit against Manchester United, here’s how to get early access

As Liverpool FC head to Asia for their pre-season campaign, we look at how supporters can get their hands on the new away kit before its official release in August.

Liverpool FC might have narrowly lost out to the title in an enthralling final day of the Premier League season this year but, no doubt, the Reds had quite a season in 2022. The club won the EFL Cup, also known as the Carabao Cup, for the ninth time in their history and the FA Cup for the eighth time in their history.

Confidence is high that more of the same can be delivered next term. And now, Liverpool FC are gearing up for the 2022-23 pre-season tour, kicking off with a match against Manchester United in Thailand today, Tuesday, July 12 at 2pm.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will visit the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, where they will battle it out for the Bangkok Century Cup.

And this afternoon, at the Liverpool FC vs Manchester United pre-season friendly, the club’s new away kit will be debuted by the players. Then, the kit will be fully launched in retailers on Friday, August 19.

However, fans can order the kit for delivery before the official launch date.

Supporters can order the 2022-23 away kit for early access from the Official Liverpool FC online store, to be delivered before the launch date. These early-access orders are exclusive to Liverpool FC and Nike.

Inspiration for the kit

Home to the likes of The Beatles, the city of Liverpool is renowned for its music scene. In fact, it was granted the status of a UNESCO City of Music.

The new Liverpool away jersey is inspired by this upbeat and energetic music scene in Liverpool, a theme which carries into the club’s jersey reveal video below.

The video features LFC fan, legendary DJ and scouser, Yousef and LFC fan, musician and scouser, Ben Sharples from Mic Lowry. You’ll also spot regular LFC faces Roberto Firmino, Thiago, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton, Melissa Lawley, Leanne Kiernan and Katie Stengel.

The away jersey itself features an iridescent, multi-coloured marble pattern over a white colour base.

A block of white on the away shirt’s back emphasises the individuality of each player’s name and number, while black sleeves anchor the dizzying design. Liverpool FC has also revealed its new black name and number design, which will be worn in cup competitions and friendlies from the 2022-23 season.

The new bold style is inspired by Liverpool’s historic street signs and is now printed with water-based inks. Water-based inks are completely free from Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is the most environmentally damaging plastic. Switching to water-based inks for their jerseys is part of Liverpool FC’s efforts to increase sustainability.

And in memory of the 97 people lost at Hillsborough back in 1989, the collar features the striking Eternal Flames, with 97 sat in-between.

The kits are also available to be personalised with Premier League names and numbers, and UEFA Champions League patches can also be added. The kit is available in adult and junior sizes.

The 2022-23 Liverpool FC away kit is exclusively available for early access at LFC and Nike. Order today from liverpoolfc.com/store to get it before the launch on Friday, August 19.
