Construction work has been completed on the new $3,500,000 United States Assay Office on the north side of Old Slip between South and Front Streets. Niles R. Becker, superintendent, announced yesterday. The last of the interior equipment, consisting of shelving for the vaults, is being set in place and the movement of the $2,000,000,000 store, of gold from its present stronghold in the old quarters at 32 Wall Street will start about July 1.
