Cancer

New Zealanders expect to receive high-quality, timely cancer treatment regardless of who they are and where they live.

In December 2019 Te Aho o Te Kahu, the Cancer Control Agency was established to provide strong national leadership for, and oversight of, cancer control in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The cancer programme previously led by the Ministry of Health has now transitioned to Te Aho o Te Kahu.

The Cancer Registry, National Screening Unit and Palliative Care remain within the Ministry of Health and all work very closely with Te Aho o Te Kahu.
