- TriviaThis was Bruce Willis' first-ever credited television role. He was cast as a guest star on recommendation by Don Johnson. The two knew each other from a bar in New York, where Willis had a night job as a bartender at the time.
- GoofsIn the beginning Tubbs is ranting about being shot at by a .30 caliber M-60 machine gun, and although he is technically wrong as it uses a 7.62x51mm cartridge, 7.62mm is exactly .30 caliber. Despite being called a 7.62x51mm cartridge, the actual bullet is 7.82mm wide, or .308 caliber, and is often called .308 Winchester or even .308 NATO. With all these different designations for the same cartridge, it isn't a surprise that Tubbs is not 100% accurate after being shot at by many of these bullets.
- Quotes
Rita Amato: You're letting him go?
[draws a gun and aims it at her husband]
Detective James Crockett: Rita, no!
[lunges at her as a shot is fired, end credits]

Top Notch Episode
No Exit, like many of Miami Vice episodes is superb. This one one stars a fresh face Bruce Willis and again uses a Phil Coillins track to great effect.
The story line is quite straight forward but is executed so well by all the actors and combined with the soundtrack and cinematography, makes it a real classic, not just for Miami Vice but for all short story episodes ever done on film.
I had to keep replaying one of the end sequences when Crockett fires his gun again and again; as the directing (David Soul, Hutch of Starsky and Hutch fame) and editing of the scene was so good. It was perfection done on a frame by frame level that deserves an award on it's own (you will know what I mean when you have seen it)
