10 Movie Heroes Who Are Actually Really Scary, According To Reddit

10 Movie Heroes Who Are Actually Really Scary, According To Reddit
Black Adam recently theaters after being stuck in development hell for years, and Dwayne Johnson recently shared a 2009 video of him discussing the character. It's a huge success story that Johnson managed to finally get the character and movie off the ground, but some might argue that the hero is actually scary.

The Dcu character kills around 150 people in the new movie, making him more imposing than most other movie heroes. However, Black Adam is far from the first hero that was actually really scary. Between a giant blue god, a Nazi killer who calls himself The Bear Jew, and an animated cowboy, these heroes scare fans more than anything.

Bryan Mills In Taken (2008)

King_of_the_nothing points to Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) in Taken as the scariest hero ever. The Redditor comments, "I think this is what Liam Neeson is going for in Taken - the scary good guy.

Chris Hemsworth Wants MCU Thor & Dcu Aquaman Crossover Fight
With one studio now being co-run by a vet of the other, Chris Hemsworth is interested in making a Marvel Cinematic Universe Thor and DC Universe Aquaman crossover fight happen. Hemsworth has carried the torch of the McU's God of Thunder for the better part of a decade now across four solo Thor films, including this year's Thor: Love and Thunder, and all four Avengers movies. With the latter Thor movie scoring generally mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, Hemsworth's future has been let up in the air, but the star himself has one idea for what could come next.

In a recent interview with The Geek House Show, Chris Hemsworth looked towards his potential future in the MCU. When asked about a crossover between the Disney comic book franchise and the Dcu, which is now being co-headed by Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn, the actor expressed

‘Wakanda Forever’ Eyes 64M Second Weekend, Audiences Selecting ‘The Chosen’ With 10M – Box Office Update
Friday Afternoon Update: Disney and Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is eyeing a 65 second weekend decline at this point, which would translate to about 64M after a Friday with 17M-19M. The pic has a shot at hitting 70M. The 10-day running total for Wakanda Forever at its current rate would land at 284.7M at 4,396 theaters, 3 behind Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at the same point.

What Wakanda has that the Doctor did not is 45 K-12 schools out and 17 colleges on Monday heading to everyone off on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Note that Black Friday typically is an enormous box office day. Expect Black Panther 2 to lead over the Wednesday-Sunday holiday spread.

Here’s How to Watch the DC Movies in Chronological Order

Here’s How to Watch the DC Movies in Chronological Order
If the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an intricate puzzle in which each piece finds its perfect place, the DC Universe is a Gordian knot, complicated by aborted overarching storytelling plans and less continuity in more recent films. There is certainly a way to watch the DC movies in order, but you’ll find some films make more sense than others, while some feel completely disconnected from the Dceu at large. This is no fault of the filmmakers, of course, as Warner Bros. was playing catch-up with the MCU and trying to build to their own team-up movie “Justice League” as quickly as possible, resulting in a bit of a slapdash approach to universe-building.

And yet, largely thanks to Zack Snyder, there’s an overarching story that’s been told, and one you can follow if you watch the films in a specific order. Below, we run down how to watch

Henry Cavill's Superman Return Isn't So Certain After All

Henry Cavill's Superman Return Isn't So Certain After All
Rumors of Henry Cavill's return as Superman may have been greatly exaggerated. Cavill last officially suited up as the Man of Steel in 2017's "Justice League," and we saw more of him last year in "Zack Snyder's Justice League." The actor also returned (albeit briefly) in "Black Adam," with Cavill stating shortly after that this was only the beginning and that he was back for real.

Not so fast, it turns out.

According to a new report from The Wrap, not only are no writers or directors attached for a potential "Man of Steel" sequel, but there is actually no formal deal in place with Cavill at Warner Bros. to have him put his cape back on. Sure, he made that Instagram post and got the internet all riled up, but that doesn't mean all that much without a contract. Per the report, there is no forward momentum on the project at all.

Henry Cavill’s Superman Encounters Setbacks to Possible DC Return (Exclusive)
Henry Cavill delighted fans in October when he made a surprise appearance as Superman in “Black Adam,” then revealed soon after that he was fully ready to once again don the red cape full time for DC Studios and Wbd. And for a while, his return seemed like a sure thing. But TheWrap can exclusively report that Cavill seems to have encountered some kryptonite on the way back to playing Superman.

According to numerous insiders with knowledge of the situation, although it has been previously reported that the search for a writer was currently underway, the fact is there’s currently no writer or director attached to the project and there’s currently no formal deal with Cavill to return.

Additionally, according to an insider, as it currently stands at the moment there’s no forward momentum on the project while newly installed DC Studio bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran

Wakanda Forever Global Box Office Passes 400 Million in Less Than a Week
Disney and Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has passed the 400 million mark at the global box office after just six days of release, barring a handful of territories that opened a couple of days earlier. For context, DC’s Black Adam is languishing with around 350 million worldwide after nearly a month in release. Wakanda Forever debuted with an excellent 181 million opening weekend domestically, which was just slightly shy of the 187 million opening weekend record for 2022 set by fellow Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earlier this year.

Black Panther 2 Week 1 Box Office Passes Black Adam’s Worldwide Total
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has already outgrossed DC's Black Adam. The new Marvel Cinematic Universe title, which will be the last theatrical release from Phase 4, came to theaters on November 11. The film follows how the various Wakandan characters introduced in the original film are handling the death of T'Challa, a development that was added to the story after the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. Ramonda, Shuri, and the rest of Wakanda must also face off against a new threat posed by Tenoch Huerta's Namor, the leader of the underwater territory of Talokan. Additional MCU returnees include Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, and Winston Duke as M'Baku.

Per THR, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has grossed 400.4 million ahead of its second weekend in theaters. The film has already surpassed the total of the post-summer season's previous superhero picture, DC's Dwayne Johnson vehicle Black Adam, which had a

Black Adam Has Officially Destroyed Superman’s Reputation

Black Adam Has Officially Destroyed Superman’s Reputation
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Black Adam #6!Even though Superman stuck his neck out for Black Adam, the latter has helped sully the Man of Steel's reputation for good. Black Adam #6 shows that the League has made a decision regarding Black Adam's membership, and it does not bode well for Clark Kent.

While Superman has the trust of his friends on the Justice League, even his closest allies brought his judgment into question when he nominated Black Adam for membership on the super team. Superman believed that the antihero could grow and become a more heroic figure and encouraged his teammates to let Black Adam on the Justice League. After accepting, Adam actually began to show signs of improvement. He showed restraint and the ability to work with others, even taking an interest in the younger hero Naomi. And when the Justice League appeared to die, Black Adam tried to

Can ‘She Said’ Find an Audience Outside of Big Cities Where Harvey Weinstein Went on Trial?

Can ‘She Said’ Find an Audience Outside of Big Cities Where Harvey Weinstein Went on Trial?
While Disney/Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is expected to dominate the box office in its second weekend, it will face off against a pair of mature original films, Universal’s “She Said” and Searchlight’s “The Menu.” For “She Said” in particular, the box office forecast shows how difficult it is for films tackling difficult real-life subjects to find a foothold among audiences.

Currently, “The Menu” has the edge with independent projections currently sitting at 8-10 million from 3,100 theaters, a result that at the low end would match the opening of Searchlight’s August 2019 thriller “Ready or Not.” Searchlight is banking that the twists and dark class satire of Mark Mylod’s film will attract the 18- to 34-year-old moviegoers who have supported the small handful of 2022 indie hits like A24’s “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Starring Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, “The Menu” has a 91 Rotten Tomatoes score.

Why Marvel Is Hesitant To Hire Comics Fans As MCU Writers

Why Marvel Is Hesitant To Hire Comics Fans As MCU Writers
Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe was built on the shoulders of its comic book counterparts, Marvel is surprisingly hesitant to hire comic fans as MCU writers. It is not a stretch by any means to imagine that anyone affiliated with the MCU was probably nose deep in the comics growing up. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is famously a superfan, and having him in charge of the franchise was a big reason that it was as embraced by audiences as it has been.

However, Nate Moore, who has been a producer on many MCU films from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, reveals that being a major comics fan is a red flag when it comes to hiring MCU writers. Moore tells all about the magic behind Marvel on the podcast The Town with Matthew Belloni, and among many interesting behind-the-scenes looks is the reason why

Amy Adams says she’s excited to see Henry Cavill return as Superman, but hasn’t been asked to return as Lois Lane
When Black Adam finally premiered, Dwayne Johnson has made it explicitly known that he has an immense interest in having his powerful anti-hero eventually going toe-to-toe with Superman in an ultimate battle of the gods. With this, Henry Cavill has taken to social media to announce that he is indeed returning to the role as the Man of Steel. DC film fans have rejoiced since the actor never fully got to shine amid criticisms from the early outings of the Dceu not living up to potential.

One person who is just as excited is Lois Lane herself, Amy Adams. Variety reports from the red carpet of the premiere of her new film, Disenchanted, which is set to release on Disney+. Adams, in an interview, expressed her enthusiasm over her former co-star returning to his iconic role,

Isn’t it exciting? I’m thrilled for [Cavill]. He’s such a wonderful Superman,

DC: 10 Best Members Of The Justice Society, According To Reddit
With Black Adam having dominated at the box office, it's clear that movie goers can't get enough of superhero flicks. No amount of mixed reviews from critics has stopped people from flocking to the theater to witness some brutal action and goofy costumed drama, and regardless of how separate individuals feels, it's clear that everyone loves Pierce Brosnan's performance as Doctor Fate.

While the other members of the Justice Society weren't given much to do in Black Adam, their inclusion has led many to look into the group's history. It's one that spans decades of comics and dozens of obscure heroes, yet Redditors seem united in highlighting which team members are the best.

Amy Adams Reacts To Henry Cavill's Superman Return

Amy Adams Reacts To Henry Cavill's Superman Return
Amy Adams, who played Lois Lane in the DC Universe, shares her reaction to Henry Cavill's Superman returning to the franchise. While Superman was the hero that kicked off the Dcu (formerly known as the Dceu) in 2013, Cavill's Man of Steel has been absent from the franchise since 2017's Justice League. However, the actor finally returned as the DC icon in the post-credits scene of Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie, which was only the first taste of the actor's new chapter in the Dcu.

During the red carpet event for Disenchanted, Adams was asked by Variety about Cavill finally coming back to the Dcu as Superman. After having starred as Lois besides Cavill's Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League, she has nothing but excitement for her co-star getting to don the iconic suit once again. According to Adams, she learned

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan has been a fixture of film and television for over 40 years, most recently as Dr. Fate in the blockbuster DC Comics adaptation "Black Adam." With his effortless suaveness and sophistication, he's been an indelible screen presence, though some of his best performances tweak the audience's expectations of the man who embodied gentleman spy James Bond across 4 films. He's also sporadically been gifted the opportunity to explore his exceptional comedic chops.

From action movies to family fare to icy political thrillers to musicals, Brosnan has explored almost every genre, often to great success. Even when he's playing the jobber, he's managed to make every project personal. "You have to invest yourself in every character that you portray," Brosnan is quoted as saying. While it was difficult to narrow down, here are the 15 best Pierce Brosnan performances, ranked.
