Acclaimed filmmaker Nanfu Wang’s new docuseries, “Mind Over Murder,” will premiere June 20 at 10 p.m. Pt on HBO Max.

Produced by Vox Media Studios, the six-part show will explore the complicated nature of memory, as told through the 1985 Nebraska murder case featuring the “Beatrice Six.”

Wang — whose “Hooligan Sparrow” was shortlisted for Best Documentary Feature at the 2017 Oscars — will use the case to shed light on the fallibility of police confessions and how recovered memories can inadvertently induce false ones, which in tandem produce wrongful convictions. The docuseries will feature previously unavailable archival footage, including the original interrogation videos, as well as interviews with the family members of the victim and the Beatrice Six and former government officials involved in the case.

Bo Burnham released an extended video featuring deleted material from his 2021 Netflix special “Bo Burnham: Inside” on Monday evening.

The video, titled “The Inside Outtakes,” comes in at nearly 63 minutes long, just 24 minutes shy of the 83-minute runtime of the original “Inside.” Burnham revisited the footage in April, beginning to edit together the extra footage into a cohesive video.

The comedian and singer-songwriter announced the debut as a surprise through Twitter, first teasing with a simple tweet that read “stand by…” before firing off a follow-up a few minutes later.

The new half-hour anthology series “Spotlights: A Showtime Short Film Series” features work from various emerging filmmakers, Showtime has announced. All five epidodes of the series will premiere Sunday, June 12 on streaming and on demand for Showtime subscribers.

Each episode of “Spotlights” will showcase two to three short films that vary in timely subject matter, tone and perspective. Offering a curated approach to support emerging filmmakers, the show also offers mentorship opportunities for each filmmaker to engage with creatives and executives across Paramount Global. Peacock released the trailer for Season 2 of “Rutherford Falls,” which premieres all eight of its episodes on June 16. From co-creators Sierra Teller Ornelas, Michael Schur and Ed Helms, the series follows best friends Nathan Rutherford (Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding) as they tackle their careers, love lives and big changes to their small town and the Native American reservation it borders, brought on by casino executive Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes).

The “Obi-Wan Kenobi” actress revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that she unknowingly almost got in an accident on the road with co-star Ewan McGregor on the way to “Jedi school” before filming.

The pilot is called “English Teacher.” Alvarez will star as Evan, a gay high school English teacher in Austin, TX, and his fellow teachers trying to balance the competing demands of the students and their parents in a world where the rules seem to change every day.
