Based in Chester, the 19-year-old islander is an international dressage rider and the owner of her very own clothing brand, OG Beachwear.

In addition to finding love, Gemma just wants to “have a really fun” summer. “I was seeing someone and then that didn’t work out so I thought, ‘Why not?’ Owen told ITV ahead of her Love Island 2022 stint.

As for what viewers can expect, Gemma describes herself as “fun, flirty and fiery” with a seriously competitive side. “I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11-years-old. I’ve travelled ... I would say I’m very competitive,” she added.

When it comes to dating, Gemma also revealed that she will “always go for what I want,” but isn’t willing to “mess up something” for a couple who have a “genuine connection.” She continued, “I wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”
