Teachers are training up our next leaders, and they should be acknowledged with gratitude. In addition to a gift, a handwritten note from a student is the perfect complement to any thank you. Reminding a teacher that what they do matters with details and memories is priceless. My friend LuAnn taught third grade for twenty years--at Christmastime she decorated two trees at home, because through the years she has received so many ornaments from her students, so she needed another tree! As she decorates, she remembers every child the ornament represents. At the end of the school year she’ll pull out a box that contains letters from students she has taught. She cherishes these moments and feels her purpose.
